steve_69
Schalke and Milan are massive clubs imo. And he's on a different planet to Zogs man. If Sissoko had some end product to his game he'd be one of the best midfielders in the world. He has absolutely zero composure in the final third and offers little no goal threat so what exactly does he offer a top team? N'Zogbia scored goals and created chances consistently. Sissoko definitely looks like the better player and perhaps has the potential to be better player but at the moment he's all fart and no s*** Sissoko's end product is sometimes disappointing, but he can still usually deliver a decent cross and sometimes a clever pass and the stats from last season will probably back this up. Add that to his work at both ends of the pitch and you can see why top teams are going to be in for him. A wide player who is involved and does some running will often be preferred to talented fairy like Thauvin for example. Sissoko offers plenty of danger going forward, it's a myth being constantly peddled on here that he has no end product. He should score more for sure, but he creates plenty of chances for others, far more than most in our team. But but but but..stats mean nothing. He doesn't score goals so he's s****. And round we go... It's not that he's shit, it's just that he isn't the top player he and his agent seem to think he is. And it's not just about him not scoring goals (which he doesn't), it's the number of times he finds himself in goalscoring positions and totally fluffs his lines or chooses completely the wrong option. If he'd actually put away some of the many chances he had last season we'd probably still be in the Premier League. If it was a one-off bad season it would be excusable but it isn't, that's just what he does.

More defensive, over time his role and development has altered. This is why he's so frustrating, he's had his natural ability coached out of him and adapted to suit Pardew. Basically was meant to be a Vieira type or defensive type, and Pardew shoved him out wide on the right. Genius.

He pressed on in his last season with them after the departure of Capoue to Spurs, starting to advance forward. In the early days of Liverpools courting of him it was for his abilities as a holding midfield player. He's totally changed his game. Yes maybe unrecognisable as a holding midfield type now. You could argue similar cases on other players that have had natural roles coached out of them. We have been great at playing players out of position or shoving them where necessary. mighty__mag
Wonder if we could get Januzaj as part of a exchange involving Sissoko if man utd are genuinely considering him? Sissoko left before Capoue did.... Also, Capoue played deeper of the two and Sissoko was the one who used to break forward, often on the end of some excellent passing from Capoue who arguably looked the better player. TRon
Januzaj is typical of the player that fans love because of the odd spectacular goal but managers hate because for 90% of games he'll be invisible or mess up team shape by ignoring his teammates looking for individual glory. I was hoping we could keep our best players under Rafa, but it looks like Sissoko and Wijnaldum will probably be gone this summer. As long as we get top dollar for them I am fine with it. We are the ones with the cards in our hands, either we get the right money or they stay and fight for their place this season.

I'm not fan of Januzaj either, think his stock has been inflated because who he plays for, much like why we paid 3 million for Obertan ! I'm fine either way with both Gini and Sissoko, keep either or both and they will be a huge asset to the club in that division. Get big money for them, as long as that's reinvested in Rafa's choice of replacement, then great.
