WOW! That interview is unreal, he lives on another planet like

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/moussa-sissoko-reveals-wants-play-11633174

Wantaway Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko insists his “priority” is to stay in the Premier League - though he is not entirely ruling out a “new challenge” abroad.

The 26-year-old impressed during France’s run to the Euro 2016 final and has attracted interest from across the continent.

Despite Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester United being credited with an interest in Sissoko, the Magpies are yet to receive a firm offer for a player they rate at around the £35million mark.

Rafa Benitez is keen to keep hold of the powerful midfielder as well after making Sissoko captain for the final half-dozen games of last season.

Sissoko, though, appears determined to push through a move elsewhere.

“My priority is to stay in England even if I’m not against going to search for a new challenge elsewhere,” Sissoko told France Football during an extensive interview with the magazine.

“I particularly want to play with big players and in top-level matches.”

During the group stages of Euro 2016, Sissoko found himself primarily as a substitute, yet during the latter stages of the competition he forced his way into the starting line-up.

And, aside from Antoine Griezmann, Sissoko was arguably France’s player of the tournament.

So how did Sissoko rate his own performance during the competition?

“I would give myself 10 out of 10,” he added.

“I don’t feel that I’m superior to others but, from the moment where I’ve given everything, I’m not going to attribute myself another mark.

“I have nothing to reproach myself for in this competition.”

On whether he believes he is rated more highly in England than in France:

“Certainly.

“But that does not upset me and it does not surprise me.

“It is in the Premier League that I really blew up.

“In England, it is a fight at first. I am better known there.

“But you cannot say that I am not loved in France.

“They maybe do not know me.”

Does Sissoko believe the French public doubt his abilities when compared to the rest of the national squad?

“If you look at the players in the national team, every single one finished in the top five in a league, they have played in the Champions League or Europa League, and me, with Newcastle, I was not playing in Europe and we went down to the second division.

“I understand why people might doubt me.

“We have a coach who understands football; if he calls me up, it is because I have certain qualities to go up against the greatest.”

On his own personal performance in the Euro 2016 final:

“Since I have worn this [France] jersey, it was my most complete performance.

“I already felt great before the game.

“With the ball at my feet we could have made a breakthrough; I know I could quickly make a difference by breaking the lines.

“It made me more confident.

“But I would have preferred to be less good and for us win this trophy.”

Sissoko’s pain following Les Bleus’ Euro 2016 final loss to Portugal:

“During the five seconds after the goal, I felt wrong; I did not know what to do, where to put myself.

“On the bench, I was in tears.

“It will stay raw with me for a while.

“The title was just in front of our arms.

“We really wanted to write our own history."

Surely he is a prime candidate for moving to China on some ridiciculous weekly wage

Based on what? He's clearly a bit of a cunt but in all these interviews he only ever talks about wanting to play for a good team. I think he's motivated by wanting to win things rather than by money

Oh aye he's sounding off like a cleft but he's right in thinking he's above being in the 2nd tier as much as his detractors would like to assert otherwise. He's devoid of sentiment but that's the nature of the project he got on board with so in that sense they've been well matched.

If he'd just started saying now that he's ready to move on I don't think he'd be getting so much stick. Fact is this is just a continuation of him claiming to be absolutely brilliant and destined for the Champions League for months.

Yeah he's beyond the pale but you're daft to expect him to accept what him to be glowing of us and likewise with winjaldum. He's very foolish to go on like this - but to be able to muster up the vitriol to the extent some have? I lack that.

Up until this point this behaviour by players and a certain front foot fret 'manager' has been actively encouraged.

Yeah. Except he's not saying that

He's saying he wants to play with the best and wants to play in the CL. What a cunt for wanting things.

He's being a disrespectful, arrogant fucker.  Who keeps talking himself up.  All off the back of 2-3 good games for France and a season or two's worth of shite performances for NUFC.

I don't think him wanting to leave or play at the top level is what people have an issue with.  It's the way he is carrying on like he is some elite level player, who is one of the best midfielders in the world.

Shame the interviewer didn't ask why the greatest, whom the English love so much, wasn't able to score a goal and created a measly 7 over a 38 game season and keep his team from being relegated. I mean, if an amateur like Maradona can win the World Cup single handedly, then surely it is within the powers of Mr 10 out of 10 to carry his club to 17th place on his mighty, broad shoulders?

I hate him almost as much as Pardew. Honestly hope someone snaps his legs so he can never play football again. -0 out of fucking 10 my ass. Die.

Like he's done anywhere near as much damage at that slime. Hate that bloke more than those on the guest list of the Nazi-ISIS networking lunch.

I dunno why he winds people up so much like.

That interview read like something Zlatan comes out with   At least Zlatan is usually amusing with it, though and he's almost doing it as a joke now.  Oh and at least he's actually a top level footballer, who has scored goals and performed at some of the biggest clubs in the world.

I can't say I was overly arsed with all of Sissoko's histrionics.  But that latest interview is horrendous.

So weird. I just don't see that when I read it

For me he sounds like a pretty self confident guy and gives a fair assessment of his Euro performance. Saying he has certain qualities which allow him to compete against the best and that he played as well as he can in the Euro final. Wouldn't argue against either of these. I think he has qualities that in specific teams or situation make him a very valuable player even at the top of the game.
