Minhosa
Realistically we're looking at: Benitez Martinez MON?
Eddy Chibas
Glad to see Rudi Garcia on the list. He's coped well despite have been gutted in the transfer market - lost quite a few key players in the space of two seasons. Rate him as a coach & developer of players with technical excellence. oldtype
I'd take Rafa.
Minhosa
I'd take Rafa. Nadal?
Guest Craig-NUFC
Think Rafa will be a tad bit out of our price range. Probably earns more than our highest paid player.

He's actually my first choice not because he's French either i just rate him really highly for what we require. Can't see him coming here though. NG32
I'd take Rafa. Hes just a fat spanish pardew tho!
Spudil
Think Rafa will be a tad bit out of our price range. Probably earns more than our highest paid player. Not a hope does he.
jdckelly
the issue with Rafa would be he is of the opinion he should go straight into a champions league job
Kanji
A manager who has the bollocks to not shy from Man City (a), Benfica (h) or our derby.
Skeletor
The problem with Rafa is that he's also a negative manager and he has a huge ego and lashes out at fans for criticising him. Not a good fit in my opinion. Any manager who has a history of defensive football should be ruled out immediately.
oldtype
I'd take managers with histories of defensive football as long as they were good at it.
Guest
Laurent Blanc Temuri Ketsbaia
Jordan
Dechamps after the WC. No way ever, would rather have Pardew than that prize bellend.
Skeletor
Laurent Blanc Temuri Ketsbaia Wouldn't want Blanc for the same reasons I don't want Pardew.
Mole_Toonfan
Laurent Blanc Nah he's just as clueless tactically and as much of a coward as Pardew is. I'd take managers with histories of defensive football as long as they were good at it.

GeordieT
I don't think the board have the courage to go for an up and coming European manager - or someone like Rafa who might ask questions of them. That's what scares me about any appointment, would end up being someone safe and English.
S.S.R.
We should look at some up-and-coming managers from the Championship. That fella Bruce looks like he's doing well at the moment.
oldtype
The last time we had to make a managerial appointment the board had a toxic reputation for undermining their managers and not supporting them in the transfer market. Hopefully this has changed given how they backed Pardew to the hilt this year. May enable us to make a better appointment.
Dinho lad
Laurent Blanc Temuri Ketsbaia Blanc is as negative as Pardew. The mentality of that French side when they played against England at the Euros was as bad, if not worse, as anything that Pardew has come-up with here. They didnt look bothered about it winning it at the end...... I think they thought they would top that group easily. Cunts.
themanupstairs
There really is no one obvious out there. We'd have to take a punt on someone young and upcoming. Benitez is pretty much the only one I would take from the "obvious" options.

Remember Souness with £50m.

I remember very similar things being said of Mancini when his name was strongly linked around the time we sacked Souness & Roeder.
