Wigan Athletic 2 - 1 Newcastle United - 17/03/13 - post-match reaction from p61

Martinez can fuck off with his shite team. How the fuck he and Wigan are rated by most on this forum is beyond me! Look at the fucking league table!!

Take a look at what he's working with though and look at the budget Wigan have comparative to other teams. Said it before and I'll say it again but I'd have him manager here over Pardew anyday.

Halsey clearly had a player blocking his view of the tackle so we can't blame him for not having x-ray vision.

What utter horseshit that is.

3 other refs on the pitch. No one sees anything...please

This.

This x2.

Agreed.  That snapshot (snap being an unfortunate word) was at the time of impact. What the fuck was he watching in the nano-seconds before it i.e. when the twat was going in with the straight-legged, studs up, knee-high boot?

Hard to say whether we would have won had Debuchy not got injured. We were completely on top until then. Things then went down hill from there. Can kinda understand the awful performance in this game. Performance aside you can't deny Halsey screwed us over ridiculously.

Debuchy's ability to go fwd was always going to cause their left side problems, as was proven in the first ten mins. His departure had a huge effect on the game.

You have to give AP some allowance for the fact we've had to change the fullback arrangements three times and the back four.

Why? He could have just brought on Perch or Anita for Debuchy instead of changing two positions for one substitution.

Neither bring what Debuchy does. I didn't have a problem with the Haidara sub at all. BUT, when he has to go off, it's asking a lot of Pardew to communicate a new (and effective) gameplan to a whole new back four, especially against a side with their movement.

A point would have been massive here.

It isn't just Pardew that does it, other managers are guilty of it too, but why replace a right back with a left back forcing your original left back to swap sides, when you have players perfectly capable of playing right back on the bench? Never understood it.

What a Cronk of shit.

2 of our players suffer broken legs in recent seasons and the refs don't even give us a free kick???

Don't come on here trying to defend the cunts!

I'd rather have some of Wigan's players than most of the bottom half tbh.

I think it's probably in recognition of Haidara's performances to date and the fact that he's a specialist fullback.

I really don't think we played too badly, we created some good chances in that second half and were the better team in that period. We also started very well. We've been robbed of a result, absolutely shafted, it wasn't a good performance but look at who we had on at the end and how we were playing.

We've just had a tough game on Thursday, you could tell we needed fresh legs but we'd been done by injuries, it's one of the pitfalls of the competition.

My anger is not at all directed towards the staff today.

Debuchy was injured, Debuchy didn't play on thursday.  Also, we were poor today.

I'm a bit surprised at this reaction. The TV replays clearly show a player directly between Halsey and the tackle.

Wumming, when everyone's emotions are running high is pretty poor form. We are supposed to be in this together.

I guess you feel pleased with yourself though.

Are you for real?

The tackle doesn't exist in a vacuum, only visible for one single freeze frame ffs.

Blatant misunderstanding of how the universe operates.

I'm with you, he couldn't see it.  Doesn't excuse the other officials though, or the handball, or about 5 other challenges.

Not always possible, but it was in fairly open space, isn't it a ref's job to ensure he has a decent view of such incidents?

"Oh, I only saw someone about to go in knee height, studs up, and then a millisecond later I saw his foot bouncing back off his knee and a buckling leg. Can't possibly give it.* Give over

Exactly. The ref's view was possibly obscured for a millisecond. Can't use that as an excuse.
