Guest neesy111
That's a great save from that Cisse chance. The replay from behind the goal showed it wasn't going in, but it still should have been a corner. Which as we know means DANGER.

Disco
While Halsey has been getting all the stick after watching on MOTD it has to be said he has been severely let down by his two linesmen, one had a clear view of the challenge on Haidara and the handball was on the linesmans side as well while Halsey was at the back post although both should have seen it as you can see all the players did. Linesmen have been bottling decisions since time began, this will never change. It's usually a massive surprise when they do stand up and be counted. There was a lot of spin on the ball. Saying that, I've not seen a 'straight on' replay since this afternoon, when I was too angry to comprehend anything. Our corners were actually alright today
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
honestly don't want Martinez anywhere near our club after he tried to defend that. For all Pardew's faults, I don't think for one second he'd have tried to offer the same pitiful drivel.
Dave
The only thing that annoys me slightly about their winning goal is how many of our players seemed to stop for the whistle, including Elliot. It should have been a freekick obviously, but we still made a right fucking mess of stopping it going in.

It should have been a freekick obviously, but we still made a right fucking mess of stopping it going in. I'm always annoyed when Simpson does it (with offsides), but if a team does it together on a handball in the box, you'd think it should have more effect on the referees - and I think it probably adds extra impact to all stop together (as though to say - this is so clear, we don't even need to continue) - but today we weren't getting shit from the ref Just one of those days. So many sloppy goals like that we concede.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
can I just ask for anyone that went down, why did that one bloke take a massive exception to any of us lot wearing St. Patricks Day Guinness hats? Went mental in the Red Robin and tried to start at least 3 separate fights. Idiot. I wasn't wearing one FWIW but witnessed him continuously boot off. Pata
Just finished watching the game and haven't caught up with any of the threads yet. That tackle is the most disgusting thing I've seen since Keane on Haaland. I absolutely loathe it when players think they can do whatever they want after first getting a slight touch on the ball. It's shocking to see players try to injure fellow professionals without showing any respect to them. Never felt that violent during a game and was praying for Perch or Tiote to snap the fucker in half. Also well done Carver. Felt very proud when I saw him react like that. Hope Halsey has a long look in the mirror and hangs his boots. Shocking stuff.
Skirge
Play to the whistle YES but you also have to appeal, trouble is all of our players seen it was so blatant and fully expected the ref to disallow the goal. Today is one of those games that you never really get over such a huge injustice on the foul and winning goal. Shit like this angers me for a long time. Everyone focused on appealing rather than getting the ball out and then arguing about it.

Ryan
Just got back an hour or so ago, still absolutely foaming about that refereeing performance. Wish I could have a job where I could make as many shocking mistakes as that in 90 minutes and still keep my job, absolutely pathetic. Our fans were top class today though, absolutely mental celebrations for Santon's goal
Neil
We always hear about whether tackles were malicious or not. "It was a bad challenge, but there wasn't any malice in it." What does it even mean? There are plenty of malicious challenges that are swept under the carpet, with excuses such as "well he didn't mean it." No, he might not have thought "I'm going to fuck up this lad's leg", but going in like he did, he showed a great deal of malice. He showed a blatant disregard towards the safety of a fellow professional, and it matters not one iota whether he's 18 or 38. I don't think many would expect Martinez - or most managers - to lay in to their player in an interview. But to defend him like he did was really disappointing, I for one thought he was a bit better than that. He was actively excusing him for it due to his inexperience, naivety, whatever you want to call it. To do that is an insult to Haidara, it's an insult to everyone's intelligence and quite frankly more than anything, it's a massive slap in the face to the laws of the game that, last time I checked, were supposed to be applied equally regardless of a player's age, club, personality or indeed any other factor other than the incident itself. The whole thing stinks to high hell and I think Martinez will have lost a few of his fans with that post-match interview. As for McManaman, well he's a marked man now and will have that tackle hanging over him for a while I think. He may well go out of his way to apologise to Haidara. That's all well and good, but perhaps he should have shown a similar level of care when he rammed his boot into his leg.
