Wullie made a good case for this before about our inability to play a forward thinking attacking play, it's either all out defence or all out attack and QPR have enough pace up front for any gaps we leave, why can't he just press like other teams do without throwing the kitchen sink at it??

A win doesn't confirm safety though, does it...

It does. Wigan play Villa last match, both can;t catch us.

Would love to see Spurs win today to keep the pressure on Arsenal to win on Tuesday too....then a draw may be enough.

It's all about that word for Pardew - "magic". That's how he thinks games should be won, rather than putting attacking pressure on as a team, as a unit.

In his head is the classic straw man. He thinks you can either win by keeping it tight and having a moment of that magic, or you can throw the kitchen sink forward and hope not to get caught. There's no middle ground of playing positive football and yet also defending sensibly from the front like most other teams at least attempt.

It brings to mind when we played Spurs last season and he said we would "let our hair down" and we were 4-0 down at half time. He hasn't the first clue how to play football like a normal balanced team.

He's frighteningly limited.

Fucking Willo. Play Mbiwa with Simpson and Debuchy as fullbacks.

Or just play Jonas at full back (he's gash there, I know, but better than Williamson) and get Marv or Anita in that team.

Williamson did fine against Benfica last time out and I'm sure he can pull another one-off decent performance out.

Otherwise, we should be beating these with that lineup. Strong bench too.
