Ishmael
That interview is an absolute car crash. The guy is a moron.
HawK
I can see Kinnear getting Shearer in. Hyperthical but would be interesting to see him with a more disciplined, foreign squad than the lads of before.
Yorkie
This has really done something to me - a light has gone off somewhere. Kinnear made me hate the club and made me embarrassed to support us. I'm not arsed if I get called melodramatic, it just feels like we've regressed to 08/09, as I can see the implications of this decision being potentially catastrophic; if not by relegation then, at the very least, the identity of the club will take another massive wound. This really, really stinks. Just hearing him call us "us" makes me feel nauseous.

Rosenrot
When Ashley finally fucks off it's going to be a long time before the damage he has caused is repaired.
HawK
Also, Mike wants to get rid of Pardew.....can't do it via sacking him cause it shows he's wrong - masterstroke, hire JFK to buy his direct boss and make him dictate to Pardew how the team should play. He'll walk before the sack race has even started.
Dr Venkman
This won't make me cancel my season ticket. I doubt it's going to effect what we see on the pitch too much next season, unless the theory that he's been brought in to force Pardew out is true. I don't think this will make Carr leave either, he's an old man now and head scout for his boyhood club, he'll continue to go and watch football and pitch players to his boss, whoever he is. That's not to say it's anything other than a monumentally terrible decision, I just don't think it's the end of the world. Unless you've been kidding yourselves that Ashley has any sort of ambition for the club above staying in the league, then I suppose you might be a bit shocked. Guest bimpy474
Kinnear isn't the replacement, he's 66 already. But it'll be his choice as to who is. I wouldn't be too sure on this. You know how that gang works. Strangely muted response from you on this appointment. Guess the chances of Pardew's leaving is higher now. I've posted a few times that Kinnear's heart problems are only countered now by him having to take tablets morning and night, combine that with losing his son to cancer, and i'm sure i remember him mention his wife needing him around in an interview with the Chronicle a while back. I've put two and two together with him being 66. I just can't see it myself but i can understand why others can. I've been pretty muted because i don't think things will change much, in fact i'd rather have a football man involved in the transfers. I'd prefer Carr, Kinnear and Pardew than Carr, Llambias and Pardew. I say that as that's the situation we are in, i'd much rather it was Carr and two others but it is what it is. tsah
The thing that narks me in that interview? His total and repeated ignorance of the fact we are called Newastle UNITED Football Club. Cunt.
Fenham Mag
When Ashley finally fucks off it's going to be a long time before the damage he has caused is repaired. Depends who comes in after, didn't take Man City to turn around their fortunes with the right owners.
HawK
Would it be arrogant to suggest that I think I'd be a better DoF than Kinnear? I've walked every season with NUFC to the title every season on CM/FM since 1995, and that's been good enough for a 21 year old to become a manager in Latvia lol. jdckelly
Well at least its livened things up a bit. Very strange business this but from a masocistic point of view I'm quite curious as to how this will turn out, the idea of a DOF in theory is a good one its just not been put in right at any Prem club (other than WBA who call it a technical director or something) and I'm not quite sure what qualifies JFK for the position but it shouldn't affect Pardew's day to day job and who knows maybe JFK's been watching a load of foreign and lower league football in his spare time and has a wealth of technically gifted youngsters in mind to sign............. or maybe he'll just listen to Carr while Llambias has less to do with transfers now. Yorkie
It's what it signifies as well as the impact it could have on the performance of the club. Just having that horrible prick associated with us (particularly after what happened last time) makes me feel like packing it in. Obviously I won't, cos thats impossible - but I've never felt this sick about the club. I cannot abide the man.

Mike
The crazy shit to me...I mean. Alright you want a DOF. That's a thing to want. But why not...interview people? I mean, really look for someone with experience in the role.

Well the appointment of Kinnear has just made throw all common sense out of the window tbh. This is the only way to try and think like this club does now. I mean, really look for someone with experience in the role. You mean base an appointment on qualifications and interview candidates that fit the job requirements? And not hire your mates from the casino? You are confusing this with a professional sports club.
