Guest Walter
Even if the mackems beat West Ham, they will most likely still need to win 2 or 3 of their last 4 games of the season. They only need 2 wins to stay up, as Palace will only win 1 more game at most They have West Ham, West Brom, Cardiff and Swansea at home. Palace have Cardiff, West Ham and Fulham away. If they only get 2 wins then they'll need 5 draws from their remaining 7 games to have a real chance of survival. No matter what you think of Palace the fact is normally 36 points is needed to have a real chance of survival. Palace will finish on 31, Fulham and Cardiff will finish on less than that. 33 points will easily be enough to stay up No it won't. http://after38.com/ predict the final table
Flip
Fan on Total Sport just had a sly pop at Quinn for 'inflicting' Martin O'Neill on them who is partly to blame for their mess. Poor lambs. The same Martin O'Neill they, nearly to a man, wanted at the time? #partywithmarty without doubt the cringest set if supporters ever 'Pardiola' 'The Fenham Eusebio' There's been a few from both sides over the years. Guest
I wonder if making 4 finals and spending the following season in the second tier would be some sort of record? Can't imagine there being many instances of a club making 4 finals and at the end of every one either still be in the Championship, or relegated to it. Mr. Snrub
They have to go to Spurs, City, Chelsea and Man Utd and play Everton at home. If anyone doesn't think these lot are going down they are mental.
Beren
They've got 6 points off those in the reverse fixtures, beat Man Utd over two legs, knocked Chelsea out of a cup and made Man City have to pull out two wonder goals to turn the tide of a League Cup final. They're much better suited to playing sides who they can sit back against. Still quietly hopeful they'll go down, but it's far from a certainty. Especially with Palace/WBA not exactly in a hurry to pull themselves clear.

However I'm resigned to the fact we're probably going down. I've seen this too many times to be hopeful.

Stray Mackem
Our fate will be sealed on Monday. We'll put in another pitiful home performance against another mediocre team, and the best we can hope for will be a draw. It's happened all season in the league, and there's no evidence to suggest it's going to change now. What it will do (hopefully) is put an end to the delusional posters on SMB, who seem to think we are going to miraculously and suddenly change our woeful home form. Like I said earlier in the thread, the worst 3 teams always go down, and if we're one of them the so be it. It'll be deserved. Edit : So it's Sundo now ey ? Pack of bastardos. Mattoon
If the worst three teams go down every season how comes Pardew is so sure we're safe? You'd be hard pressed to find a team playing worse football than us ATM, present company accepted

You'd be hard pressed to find a team playing worse football than us ATM, present company accepted I've got to say I've watched Newcastle about 15 times this season, and apart from Man U away, Fulham away (I think), and Man City at home in the cup, I've not been impressed at all. But Pardew must be doing something right, because your league position is something we Sunderland fans would kill for.
