Sunderland

There has been plenty spoken about Defoe's move back to England, the knight in shining armour to save Sunderland from their current malaise. Their total of 18 goals this season is 'beaten' only by Aston Villa's 11, and 22% of those have come in defeats. Gus Poyet's side need less of a spark and more of a raging fire.

Unfortunately, there appears to be a good deal of revisionism over Defoe's form. This is a player who moved to the relative backwaters of Major League Soccer after scoring two goals in his last 1262 Premier League minutes. If he keeps up that rate back in England, he'll score 19 league goals over the entire length of his three-and-a-half year contract, assuming he plays every minute of every match. He also failed to score in his last 414 minutes for Toronto.

Furthermore, Defoe is a striker who feeds off a partner. With Steven Fletcher now perennially out of favour and Danny Graham comprehensively not good enough, it falls on Connor Wickham to be the support act. Sue me for being underwhelmed.

A season (league only) lasts 3420 mins so the number sluts can work out his average though it appears to be good. For context, Remy got 14 in 2097 mins for us last year.

Also worth noting is their insane home fixtures

If he's motivated he'll score goals.

it would seem to me to be spending a lot on wages to not really solve the ultimate problem they have they have- they don't create chances and Defoe won't work in the current set up Poyet plays. Is he likely to change that?

He's got a good record against us. That's the only criteria they need to stay up.

Translation: He's got a good record against us. That's the only criteria they need to make a bunch of t-shirts and idolise him as some sort of messiah.

Called it!  ;D

This literally makes no sense at all

Even if he was frequently referred to as JD it still wouldn't make any sense.

What a fucking tragic bunch they are

My god, that's awful. The only exception to me wearing something like that is if it was Shola on there, because then it would be ironic and funny (because he's not the number 1 finisher (just thought I'd explain ))
