The Battle For More Points than 2010/11 - SUCCESS!

Recommended Posts

expect this to be battle for 10th after a few more games.

Looking like we are now, i wouldn't be surprised if we managed the biggest collapse in history and turned it in to a relegation fight.

I cannot see us score a goal, hopefully Remy will get us the few points and goals needed. Shocking performances since christmas.

Taking aside the obvious feel good factor that has been taken from the club by selling Cabaye and not replacing him, there is still a chance to finish higher than 8th.

For instance, we play Man United, Tottenham and Everton all at home now and if we pick up in form these three fixtures could be key.

Win all of these (  :yao: ) irrespective of other fixtures and the picture looks a lot different.

We're not scoring goals and we're conceding them by the bucket load. We won't win many more matches this season.

Just a thought, but if Spurs win the Europa League, finish lower than 4th and we accidentally still finish 8th, could we still be in Europe?

4 Champions League places (eg, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool)

3 Europa League places (eg, Everton, Man Utd, Spurs)

If Man City win the League Cup, two of the above get to the FA Cup Final and Spurs win the Europa League, do they get next season's slot as defending champions and our league gets another place?

Found the answer here, no.

If the previous UEFA Europa League title-holders are not eligible to take part in either of the current UEFA club competitions (UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League) by virtue of their domestic form, the UEFA Administration may, at the request of the association of the club concerned, admit this club to the current UEFA Europa League competition. Its participation will not be at the expense of the contingent of its association.

We're such lucky bastards.
