M4
Had immense love for Zidane, but I was probably too old to call him a 'hero'. First experiences of going to a stadium were to go see: http://i.imgur.com/0ocU2ha.png Obviously already classy, but never had too much mad love for him afterwards. LiquidAK
First got into football when Shearer was the main man for England. Asked my dad who he played for and he said Newcastle.

Interpolic
Andy Cole and Peter Beardsley. Before that my interest wasn't as keen yet but I liked the likes of Clark, Sellars, Kelly, Peacock, Kilcline. Fancied myself as a keeper to begin with so also had a strange fascination with Tommy Wright.
Guest bimpy474
These two were mine, i wanted to be Maldini. http://i.imgur.com/AZ5H9vX.png
Mick
Was a keeper, so Tim Flowers. Outfield it was Pedro. I used to watch him play in goal when he was a kid, he played in the same team as my cousin.

Froggy
I was referring to the deal that brought Cole to us. 6m and Gillespie or something like that.

Guest Howaythetoon
Andy Cole. Then Shearer, KK. Overall, probably Hughie Gallacher.

Anderson
Shearer, not that I had much choice like. Me Mam used to get discounted kits with free name and number through work or something, I think my Dad insisted I got Shearer every time. First opposition/non-NUFC player I can remember taking a liking to was Zola.
Froggy
Froggy's accruing some massive karma in this thread like I don't deserve it but it comes with the territory. He genuinely was my first hero. I'm aware. We spent the 6m on Ferdinand. Ah apologies. Solid purchase some would say!
Dr Colossus
http://themagpies.weebly.com/uploads/9/6/1/5/9615610/5261608_orig.jpg First match was his debut, scored twice. Went to meet the players at training once and he was really canny with me when my mam said he was my favourite player. Fucking terrifying, but couldn't punch the air without looking a bit camp. Still a little bit unsure why I liked him so much, as he's basically the opposite kind of player I like now.
Shays Given Tim Flowers
http://themagpies.weebly.com/uploads/9/6/1/5/9615610/5261608_orig.jpg First match was his debut, scored twice. Dr Venkman
As well as Gazza, always loved http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/63481000/jpg/_63481458_1558659.jpg He seemed like a proper nice fella, and you could tell it meant everything to him, the way he used to celebrate some goals for England. Going further afield, playing on Sensible World of Soccer all the time i started to idolise http://blog.buddybet.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/gullit16.jpg
Anderson
Used to love Romario as a kid, even though this was past his glory days, thanks to Actua Soccer or some equally shite Playstation game. Batistuta was another I seen very little of, but really liked.
