Would be fed up with watching my value plummet because the entire club is structured to fail and I'm being coached by a rotating cast of underqualified buffoons. Hell, your board doesn't even put up much of a fight when selling (unlike Spurs, for example). The trouble is that it becomes more difficult to "showcase" your talent in a struggling team. Players are better off going to Swansea these days. The only thing we can offer them now is the big stadium with 52k but the numbers are dropping and the atmosphere is dead so that is no longer much of an attraction either.
