Mole_Toonfan
Some really do underestimate how much shit there is in the league some times times, we'll be fine and hopefully we won't be bored to tears in the process.
thenige
I very much hope you're all right, can't face another one that makes me feel as apathetic as last season.

Yorkie
Wouldn't be remotely surprised to see us in another relegation scrap, like. The board don't care, and whilst McClaren will provide a better buffer to prevent that mentality seeping into the squad than JC - the lack of desire still pulsates throughout the club from boardroom level. That causes switchoffs like what was so clearly evident last season. I think we've got a bit of talent in a squad that is horrendously imbalanced between attack and defense, and lacking in quality depth. Four years of Carvdew will ensure that the football isn't going to improve immediately - compounded by another piece-of-shit pre-season schedule that helped no one - and our major signings haven't had enough time to settle. We'll probably be fine but it's going to be a serious case of just muddling through this year. I'm relieved Pardew's gone and I've nothing against McClaren (yet), but the club's still a piece of shit and I'm prepared for another wank season. mrmojorisin75
The start we have isn't going to help at all as there will be little chance at doing anything but firefighting for a lengthy period. Imperative for McLaren he gets a result vs Southampton like
cubaricho
I honestly think we'll finish anywhere from 8-11 this season. Our squad is looking better than it did last season and there is just some serious crap in the league at the moment. Once we ship off Sissoko and he stops taking up that RW spot and we get another CB in we'll be golden.
Lenny
I think we'll be alright this season, 8th to 12th, and hopefully signs of cohesion as the season goes on.
mrmojorisin75
Something pretty drastic is going to have to change if we're getting anywhere near 8th mind. Cohesion is the word really, we have none, anywhere on the pitch at all.
Mole_Toonfan
There's nothing special about any of the teams below the top 6, anyone could finish top 8 realistically it isn't that hard. Carvers utter ineptitude has made people forget how bang average the rest of the league below Spurs and Liverpool is and hell even they are not all that really. Which is why it's so frustrating seeing the lack of ambition it's really not as competitive and as strong as Sky etc will want you to believe. You would think Everton, Swansea and Southampton are Arsenal level they way they are talked about at times.
Kanj
It's all about luck / clinical finishing and going on a multi match run in first half of season and second half of season when you're not in top 8. See: fifth place season when we went on 2 good runs.
henke
Wijnaldum is the key like, we could win the league.

Ronaldo
I have absolutely no confidence in us to keep it tight at the back, which is where we'll drop points. Right back, for example, is the strongest position in the back 5. It has next to no cover and Janmaat isn't great defensively.
Stottie
Our preseason certainly doesn't suggest any major improvement at the back If we come out playing anything like we did in that Leicester game ....
toontownman
We need some serious stability in the centre.. Colo needs to sort himself out, whether he is having another crisis in confidence or not the club has backed him a lot since he went awol last time. Seems we can't rely on him anymore. Another CB is critical. Have been pretty sceptical about Austin coming in with mitrovic here as well but it gives us a proven goal scorer in this league of the bat and helps mitrovic settle. I hope it comes off. Still not convinced about playing them both. Still need a right winger that can cross and dare I say score a goal from outside the box. Would still like Matt Phillips but for the price quoted we could surely do far better abroad.

LFEE
I predict we will spend £40m Net in this window. So we are nearing the point of one out for one in if we are after any serious quality. All the links have went very quiet.

Cronky
Still a month to go. Three quality signings in already. It could be worse, no?
Ikon
"Already" ? Not even near good enough, yet. 3 signings and the season starts in a week We need 3 more quality ones. Then it has been a good window.
mozy
Still far too much dross taking up squad places, plus the defence on paper is probably worse than everything bar the promoted clubs.
