So they hope he can stay fit until his contract runs out and they can shift him out and bring someone in with the wages they would be paying him. Pathetic attitude really, especially since our current center back pairing isn't good enough to begin with. Can only hope its a case of playing things down so clubs don't think we're desperate for a new defender. But in reality their's almost no chance of that being the case. loki679 Posted December 26, 2015 Share Posted December 26, 2015 We desperately need a massive beast of a CB, someone big and strong who can physically dominate the opposition to complement Mbemba and quality CM in the Speed / Batty mould who can anchor the side and control the midfield. Just those two signings would transform us as a team imo. We could get rid of Colback ( ) and play Wijnaldum and Sissoko in their natural positions and use Thauvin and Perez for a bit of width. If we're willing to go into fantasy land then a pacey old fashioned winger a la Keith Gillespie with a bit of pace and a good cross on him and a new left back who can work effectively at both ends of the pitch would be lovely too.
