toon25
Mcclaren getting another job in football management, man
54
I know he's shit, but atleast McClaren has some sort of silverware on his CV to justify getting another job where as managers like Pardew, Pulis, Hughes etc do not.
STM
My worry is that Spurs might go for Rafa.
Pons Alias
Allardyce to Watford no later than November. That's his life now. In for a few months getting millions to keep a club up. It's about as much as anyone can put up with his football. He probably doesn't care considering the money he'll be paid too. He's Dave Basset. AyeDubbleYoo
I don't think McClaren is that bad a manager, here he just didn't have the bottle to see his ideas through. Unfortunately he's turned into a comedy figure now so the odds are stacked against him.

leffe186
According to Sky Chelsea will go for Pochettino when Conte leaves. According to Sky...oh yeah. But wait, it's also the Sun...oh yeah. Not just them though, it's Talksport...oh yeah. Meh. Can't wait for the England squad to be announced so they can chunter on about that instead for a while. We should probably consider a prediction league though - managers for: Man City Man U Spurs Liverpool Chelsea Arsenal Newcastle Everton Man U Sunderland
Skeletor
Pochettino will surely bide his time for a top continental team. Think he'll be the next Real Madrid manager whenever it's available. Perhaps if they don't win the CL.
leffe186
Here's my guess: Man City - Pep Man U - Mourinho Spurs - Poch Liverpool - Klopp Chelsea - Luis Enrique Arsenal - Emery Newcastle - Rafa Everton - Marco Silva West Ham - Fonseca Sunderland - Mick McCarthy
Guest
As fun as Spurs have been the last few years I'd love them to crash and burn. If we do start getting it right as a club again soon then having one less team almost guaranteed a top 6 place would be a helpful hand.

Deuce
Independent saying that Arteta is "very close" to becoming the next Arsenal manager, with Cazorla joining the backroom team. Whew. Always liked him as a player though.
Guest firetotheworks
Yeah, I heard that on the ramble. Canny interesting appointment, if true.

joeyt
Should get Rosicky in as fitness coach while they're at it
Yorkie
Would be an interesting appointment. I guess it's clear that Gazidis wants things done in a certain way and there's no room for a universal club manager in that.
KaKa
Oh man ... one of my friends who is an Arsenal fan was raging at the idea of Arteta when the initial rumour surfaced a few weeks back. He is going to be going mad He was rattling off names like Ancelotti, Allegri and Simeone as the type of managers they absolutely had to go for. Oh dear
KaKa
For what it's worth I think it's a really interesting appointment. Really liked him as a player and just seemed a good sort, so would hope he did well.
Elliottman
Not aimed at anyone in particular but what is interesting about the appointment if It happens? If I was an arsenal fan I think I’d be pretty fucking gutted.
Stifler
Imagine hounding Wenger out for year and to then end up with Arteta as the replacement.

If I was an arsenal fan I think I’d be pretty fucking gutted. My Arsenal following mate seems confident he'll be a success. Surprised at how comfortable so many of them seem to be with it. https://le-grove.co.uk/2018/05/15/fans-rally-behind-arteta-hype-as-evidence-mounts-hes-quite-good-long-read/

If I was an arsenal fan I think I’d be pretty fucking gutted. Man ... if I were an Arsenal fan I'd be incredibly stressed out by the appointment to be fair I just think it's interesting to see a young assistant being given a chance, and I just like the guy as a neutral so it would be interesting to observe it all play out. KaKa
you'd think he'd have learned a fair bit off Pep like. I think he'll do alright Yeah, there's that as well. The fact pep was so eager to get him in as part of his staff was always interesting to me. So he must have something about him, and yes, you would imagine he has picked up a lot form both Pep and Arsene.
AyeDubbleYoo
In some ways I’d like to see Arteta, but if I was an Arsenal fan I would be very worried it just represents a continuation of the policy to spend little and finish 5th.
