The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Steve Cooper sacked by Leicester

Really weird appointment. What if he does absolutely brilliantly? Wins the CL? It'd be Di Matteo all over again.

Speaking of whom, what ever happened to Di Matteo? Villa stint aside thought he was a decent manager.

Why the fuck would he leave a full time job at Molde for a few months at Man Utd after he failed at Cardiff?

He'll earn more in 6 months at Man Utd than he would in 6 years at Molde.

Plus look at what the likes of Di Matteo and Grant were able to parlay extended caretaker stints at Chelsea into just by having it on their CV.  Multiple top league jobs with multiple top league payouts on top.  Worst case scenario is he makes his dosh, fails and goes back to Norway where he'll have multiple job offers.

Should've just stuck with Mourinho and had him work for the payout, they weren't in freefall like his Chelsea ending, beating the teams below them still and if anyone is going to grind a fluke result against PSG, it would be him.

Why would he leave Molde to manage probably the biggest club in the world? Who cares if its for 6 months, its an incredible achievement for his CV plus if he does well he might get it permanently.

Brilliant for OGS though. Goes back does a decent job, possibly even scraps them back into the top 4. It will give his reputation a boost.

Provided they didn't do something stupid an offer him the permanent job, that would be a car crash.

I don't see the point in them paying £24m to sack Mourinho to bring in OGS until the end of the season. Surely they'd get a bigger points return just keeping hold of Mourinho then getting rid and appointing a full time manager in the summer.

Nah. Jose was done. He had lost the confidence of the board, the players and the fans. It would have been a disaster.

Don't think OGS will get them in the top 4 and I don't think he'll get them any further in the CL than Mourinho would have either.

The players had downed their tools, staff were unhappy, they had no option but to sack him.  Gives them a chance to rebuild now.
