The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Steve Cooper sacked by Leicester

Recommended Posts

Jess Marsch should have had enough faith in himself to take the job on a short term deal. If he's got any belief in his own abilities he should have backed himself to earn the longer contract anyway.

Howe landed one of the best jobs in England because he didn't hesitate while dithering Unai flipped and flopped. Howe knew he had the credentials and he knew the job was right for him.

There again, maybe Marsch just thinks Southampton is a shithole. Seemed like a decent opportunity to prove himself at this level to me.

There seems to be a small campaign here in the US media in favor of Marsch for coaching the US national team. Maybe he is waiting for that?

Going back to Warnock, I didn't realise just how tough a job he's got at Huddersfield, out of the 15 games they have left, 11 of them are against teams in the top half of the table and chasing promotion.

Looks like he's got something about him.

Great player, character and glad to see him doing well. NE Football has been underperforming the last decade and it’s good to see these along with the lot down the road in the playoff/promotion hunt.

What’s comforting is our owners wouldn’t let a talent like Carrick go unnoticed as we modernize our scouting and academy operations.

Seems to be a busted flush now. Though I reckon if he was English he'd be considered.

Aye.

Genuinely the game has moved on from him at the highest level. But he could do a Hodgson at Fulham or even Palace type job for.. well those kind of teams.

He's also a nightmare from a Leadership level. Someone like Ranieri was easy to get along with as an Owner.

Been a weird season for QPR, and certainly one of two halves up to now.

Started the season very well, and after 16 games they had 30 points (9W 3D), and were top of the league for a couple of weeks, but it's kind of all gone to pot since the Beale Wolves link and since then they have only won 1 and drawn 6 of their last 17 games, just 9 points, so they've gone from almost 2 points per game to barely 1 point in 2.

Probably just about enough points on board to not get totally dragged into the mess and even a modest 1 point per game, or just under, in their final 13 games should probably be enough, but something had to change, and they'll have been twitching with Cardiff, Huddersfield, and Blackpool (all with new managers) all getting 3 points this weekend.
