The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Van Nistelrooy to Leicester | Lampard to Coventry

Recommended Posts

Looks like he's losing all his players this summer to be fair.

He's losing a few but it sounds like Mbappe wants to stay and they've already bought Tielemans. They were set for a canny summer.

And he's rich either way, really. He was on the way to getting a big European gig if he just waited a bit.

THIRTY SIX MILLION.

No football career. Climbed his way up the managerial ladder. Potentially not a millionaire - certainly not worth 5 or 6 million.

THIRTY SIX MILLION.

Can't blame him. He's hit the belly. 1 season and he'll earn more than he ever has in his life several times over.

He's not Zidane who could make 7 figures a year forever more just to mumble at events. He didn't make millions in his playing career. Probably hasn't made millions as a coach.

Only early 40s as well so plenty of time to go back to Europe if he wants

I'm not clear what you're getting at here?

Feel a bit sorry for Puel, got them to a cup final and the finished 8th in the league which is decent but the football they've played has been pretty forgettable

what were they expecting?

presume there's more factors at play maybe they've been alerted a longer-term target is available or something

So they sacked him because they didn't play like Barcelona? They finished 8th ffs, what do they expect when they keep selling their best players year after year. It's totally nothing like Pardew at all, they've finished 8th, 7th, 6th and 8th again.

So there's nothing between Barcelona and s*** football? It was extremely poor. I've heard the players have a problem with him too. Also, as for the 8th finish, points wise he was closer to relegation than 7th. Everyone below 7th was shit.

Not saying I really have an opinion either way, but I do understand it.

yeah it obviously can't have been purely based on league finish and cups last year, clearly more to that

Southampton scored 17 home goals all season, there is a sliding scale of football quality rather than being "Barcelona and the rest" and by all accounts the fans thought they were playing terrible football all year.

When your realistic ceiling is around 6th then what's the point in messing around playing terrible football rather than having a bit of fun as you go.  It's exactly the sort of attitude we wished our owner had for years on end, rather than persevering with awful football and awful results as we did instead.

There's no issue for me sacking managers, it's appointing the right one that is the issue.

Did you watch them at all? They were absolutely shite to watch like, and we would know.

Watched a few games. Some games they looked poor tbf, but some games they played well.

Realistically they were unlucky to lose the cup final aswell, certainly had the better of that game.

Get French Football‏ @GFFN

AS Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has agreed a 3-year-contract with Beijing Guoan worth €36m, according to A Bola.

:anguish: :anguish: Jardim can get lost, like. No one fancy building a team anymore?
