Sounds like Gerrard failed his Southampton interview

So glad he insisted on being headhunted and we missed out.

'How will you keep us in the Premier League then, Stevie'

'Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerm'

Genuinely don't understand why they appointed yet. Is a case of their owners setting their sights too high with their targets? Or just that other managers think they're sunk already?

I mean, on paper, there's no reason why most people wouldn't look at their squad and think there's enough there to get them out of the shit.

Apparently Leeds want either Iraola or Slot both have said no at this point but are willing to come in the summer.

Guess with Leeds you know you'll be sacked in a year if you're anywhere near the relegation zone, which at best they will be and at last some managers are factoring the upheaval and reputational damage into it and not just jumping at a PL job that's tempting on the face of it.

Jess Marsch should have had enough faith in himself to take the job on a short term deal. If he's got any belief in his own abilities he should have backed himself to earn the longer contract anyway.

Howe landed one of the best jobs in England because he didn't hesitate while dithering Unai flipped and flopped. Howe knew he had the credentials and he knew the job was right for him.

There again, maybe Marsch just thinks Southampton is a shithole. Seemed like a decent opportunity to prove himself at this level to me.

There seems to be a small campaign here in the US media in favor of Marsch for coaching the US national team. Maybe he is waiting for that?

Going back to Warnock, I didn't realise just how tough a job he's got at Huddersfield, out of the 15 games they have left, 11 of them are against teams in the top half of the table and chasing promotion.
