I don't really rate Nuno that highly tbh, so could definitely see Forest doing better if they get the replacement right.

Yeah, not that highly, but you can't really argue with his track record. Brought Wolves up and had them in the top half for a couple of seasons -- 7th I think. Almost got Forest into the Champions League.

More likely they'll come to regret losing him. Especially if they bring in Ange.

Thing with Nuno he’s the perfect fit for Forest like he was Wolves, disaster at Spurs.  Ange would be a disaster at Forest, the styles wouldn’t work

Fun to watch thought

Why is Russel Martin falling out with everyone at Rangers ? Seems like he's went in there with a right chip on his shoulder and it's back firing massively

He does have a massive chip on his shoulder, he just has a look of arrogance about him, and always speaks arrogantly.

Russel Martin has no humility towards the sport. He just thinks if he believes in himself hard enough you aught to believe in him and that’s all it takes.

Theres no genuine analysis of the self or reflection whatsoever.  It’s always the players, never the plan or preparation.

As a Swansea fan I know all about Mr Martin.

We were so happy, couldn't believe out luck when Southampton poached him. The only good memory of his two years with us was 4 victories on the trot over Cardiff, at no time in history had either team won both league games in the same year when we were in the same division, yet somehow, even with Martin at the helm, we did it two years in succession.

He believes he knows better than anyone else, and his belief is there is only onle way to play, short passing, hold onto the ball. The players were under instruction so they would not hit the ball long. This has devestating effects on defence where Martin agve instructions that defenders under no circumstances could hit the ball to safety, instead in the tightest positions in our own box the players were making short passes under pressure. This leads to goals (in the wrong net), one mistake and we'd have at least one usually more, every game.

This lead to at least one keeper having his confidence shot to peices, who like any player who made a mistake under pressure which lead to a goal, being put out to dry by Martin in his post game comments. Never Martin's fault, he always made sure the players were thrown under the bus.before.

He was lucky to remain in the job during his first year, we failed to win in about 12 matches, the fans were on his back because of the inept tactics thenw e went on a winning streak, this streak coincided with him abandoning his principles and we played attacking football instead of his constant short passing between central defenders and Grimes, who usually played further back than the centre halves. Once we were looking safe and gained enough points, he returned us to the turgid football he had inficted on us before.

When Southampton came in for him, we were over the moon. He took a team that should have walked the league to promotion via the play-off's and then obviously got found out big time in the Prem. How the Rangers board saw what he had done before and decided this is the guy for us is beyond my thinking.

Yes

😅 Nothing too juicy I'm afraid, around that time I was doing a lot of work coaching and scouting, the latter doing a fair bit opposition analysis and watching PL2/U21s for L1/L2/NL teams for loan opportunities.

Found myself spending a few days at MK Dons for both coaching and scouting around both the first team and their academy, few chats about all the above, found the guy has a proper "pay attention to me and learn"/thinks he knows the lot manner about him. Last morning there I witnessed him put on one of the worst and most incoherent coaching sessions I've ever seen, ironically it was a defensive/protecting the goal session, which he apparently doesn't bother with anymore. Then a few discussions via his staff/others at the club after about players/his training. He's an absolute bellend.

To be fair I think he kept them up with a bit to spare in the end!

As an aside, I met and had a chat with that Robbie who is the founder/frontman of Arsenal Fan TV in the same few days as his lad was in their academy, really nice fella contrary to how he sometimes comes across.

Potter is surely toast now? Nownit all makes sense why he was in no rush to take another PL job and enjoyed tending to his garden while being paid by Chelsea.

Can't see Brendan Rodgers getting another PL job. His style of play is fucking dire and his record in the transfer market I'm both England and Scotland leaves a lot to be desired. He came back to Celtic to make amends for bailing on them last time so it would ruin whatever legacy he has there if he doesn't see out the last year of his deal. 60k a week to run over the top of the likes of Falkirk and Livingston and no decent PL offers may help sway him as well.

As for Russell Martin, who could've predicted that a smarmy, vegan, Buddhist, southern Green Party member wouldn't go down well with the Rangers fans!
