That’s some implosion to go from qualifying to Europe to hiring Dyche to keep you in the division within 6 months.

Yeah, it was always the case that he’s going to be the biggest barrier to any sustained success for Forest.

Kind of Shepherd sacking SBR-lite. Nothing really wrong with sacking Nuno in isolation, there are better managers out there. But then replacing him with Postecoglu and potentially Dyche makes it a terrible decision.

A lot wrong with sacking Nuno after a handful of games.

Get rid of him in the summer and sign players for a different type of football.

Gerrard has turned down Rangers

Quote

Talks between Gerrard and Rangers were understood to be positive throughout and both sides agreed to leave the door open for the future.

Always nice for the new boss to know who's lined up to replace him before he's even got through the door...

Rangers has been turned into a total basket-case of a club, over the last year or two. What the hell are the owners doing?

They managed to go bust at the exact time the European money went crazy and it allowed Celtic to build up an unassailable gap in resource and quality.

Add in myriad legal struggles to rid themselves of Mike Ashley and only having a hope of winning should Celtic fuck things up it’s not hard to see why they are in permanent crisis.

CL money has killed quite a few leagues when only one team consistently qualifies.

It's actually only new ownership since June.

Isn't it the 49ers/Red Bull lot who own Leeds? I always assumed their acquisition of Rangers was to have them as a feeder club for Leeds or a hedge which earns then consistent EL income in the event that Leeds go down and don't get back up.

Hahahaha, maybe give Liverpool a ring and see if they'll give you a job cleaning Isak's boots, that's if he ever arses himself to get any proper mud on them.

Proper bootlicking pervert is JDT.

'He forgot what Sweden stands for' - analysis

Daniel Kristoffersson, football reporter for Swedish newspaper Sportbladet

Everything has gone wrong. He has implemented a system and tactics that we do not have the players for. We have lost to Kosovo twice having not scored a goal - even though we have world-class players like Viktor Gyokeres and Alexander Isak.

He has made players like Lucas Bergvall, Gyokeres and Isak look like Sunday League footballers. We could have expected a lot more from the Swedish national team. He hasn't got anywhere near what the players are capable of. He was a dead man walking after the Kosovo game.

Before the qualification we were comparing this team to the one that was close to beating the Netherlands in the 2004 Euros quarter-final. Then, we had Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrik Larsson, Freddie Ljungberg, Olof Melberg - a fantastic team. If you look at the clubs the players play for and how they have performed, this is one of Sweden's best teams. But the results are some of the worst. That's 90% up to the coach.

He came in with high promises to play attacking and high possession football, but he has been very naive with the defence. Over the years Sweden have had one of the best defences as a team.

But Jon Dahl Tomasson promised attacking football and he completely forgot what Sweden stands for - being solid defensively.
