Iraola is the new Graeme Potter

Nah, he’s got more about him than that. He could be the next Thomas Frank though.

His win percentage is shite. Another flavour of the month where the assumption is does well with low budget = will automatically do miles better with a bigger budget

He absolutely is. Why aren't people gasping for Regis le Bris? More wins, more points, better defensive record, less developed squad. He MUST be class.

Iraola looks to have a lot of the same strengths and weaknesses as Howe.

I think the style of football translating to Europe could be an issue but tactically he is better than Howe, whereas Howe has a superior attention to detail.

His football is really exciting too

Quote

'Iraola favours a 4–3–3/4–2–3–1 formation with a focus on quick ball recoveries. With quick wingers, tireless midfield runners and a defensive midfielder who tends to drop deep when building from the back when the full-backs push forward, his main emphasis is on catching the opposition off guard.'

Basically identical approach 4231 aside tbh

He seems to be doing a lot better this season though, despite losing his best players.

I think he's done an excellent job

this season all things considered, but it doesn't stack up v Howe's achievements.

Three points ahead of us with playing a lot fewer games and getting knocked out very early of both cup competitions.

I am not denying he might be decent but he seems to be held up by some as the second coming of Pep.

I jolly well hope this is the beginning of a tumbling down the league/s for Bournemouth but I'm badly burned by the Brentford case study.

Potentially interesting timing for us given the next fixture though one assumes the players have probably long been aware that he's leaving.

Feel like Iraola would be well suited to our current squad and setup, but in time you'd have the same issues where you have a tired squad with a single game plan based around pressing and no ability to control games. It's a pass from me. I'd rather stick with Howe than get him in.

Christ, there's no need to throw the job Iraola's done under the bus because people are fanatically pro-Eddie. That's being totally unreasonable and make you wonder how much else is unreasonable with it.   He's done an excellent job.

He'll go home to Bilbao. It's probably close to completed. This is what I think, mind.

Agree. Its the big job for a Basque. Something is lined up for sure I'd say and that rules us out.
