All fart no shit CV and del boy levels of interviewing probably... Sounds similar to another manager we know who is still getting decent jobs, 22 years down the line. Guest HTT II
Clark showed promise as a young manager early on in his career, but he surrounded himself with people way past their sell by date by the time he was making it through the lower leagues with Huddersfield and continued that. Plus he has a drink problem…

wormy
Lee Clark in Sudan for a 51 day run is a mildly amusing thought but credit to him for taking the plunge and trying to keep his managerial career going.
joeyt
I didn't realise he's already managed that Sudanese club before just before a brief spell in Oman

What he did at Huddersfield was insane. How he went from that to Birmingham and then the absolute nosedive after I have no idea. Is a crying shame imo. Clark was involving himself in management whilst he was still playing for us, getting involved in Walker Central etc. Then obviously reserve team coach here with Roeder then to Norwich with Roeder and doing so well at Huddersfield. Froggy
Looks increasingly likely that Ten Hag will be our new manager in the summer. Prefer him to Poch.

The Prophet
It's a risky one, but he's been impressive at Ajax.

Guest
Personally think both he and Pochettino would be brilliant appointments for Man U.
The Prophet
Personally think what Poch achieved at Spurs was incredible and he'd be a more tried and tested fit. Ten Hag looks great, but is still relatively unproven. Edited March 24, 2022 by The Prophet
Guest HTT II
I know nothing of the Ajax manager, but Poch would be a top appointment. The problem with Man Utd, however, isn’t the manager, it’s the entire culture and structure of the club right now.

There is rumours that ETH would want to bring a Dutch coach in though, with the names mentioned being Stam, van Persie or van Nistelrooy. ETH is the overwhelming preference for the fans. Joey47
Out of curiosity, what do you think is the main factor holding Man U back from winning trophies currently? Obviously the board is pretty rotten but what specifically are their biggest mistakes? Managers, quality of signings, lack of signings, not having a DOF, not having a clear culture through out the club?

The people they’ve entrusted to run the club don’t know what they’re doing. they’ve let Old Trafford decay too. Managers, quality of signings, lack of signings, not having a DOF, not having a clear culture through out the club? There's a theory that when a system gets too complex it's collapse is inevitable. This looks very like Man Utd now. Trying too hard to get the best of everything with no thought on how everything will work together and just hoping things will work out. It's the Freddy Shephard method with an extra 0 on the salary. No plan, just reacting to current issues. Total hangover from Ferguson, who was clearly a once in a lifetime manager. They seem to be looking for that again, the problem being is that it just doesn't exist at the current time. Could say the same with Arsenal who relied on Wenger so long, they didn't know what to do when he left and then chopped and changed for so long. They are going in the right direction with Arteta, but would say its virtually impossible now to pluck a manager from obscurity that will shock the league with new tactics/methods
GeordieDazzler
Is because they make snap commercial decisions on signings and seem to lack any long term strategy. Glaser's aren't really arsed if they win the league as long as they can make money out of it.
