Portugal were atrocious today. The US was its usual self, physical, stubborn, and brave, but from the gift in the 3rd minute to the amazing cross at the death, Portugal offered nothing to the game. Ghana should be licking their lips, tbh. From almost certain death, to a decent position (given the circumstances) in an instant. I can't see any result other than a comprehensive Germany win on Thursday. The Americans would have to hope for a draw, or 1-0 Portugal victory, if that was the case.

We're at the halfway point for games now. Plus things are gonna quicken up with them playing at the same time :(

Almost Pardew time.

 :yao: :scared: :anguish:

 I'm just saying shit to hurt people now. I'm salty as fuck.

 Please accept my apology, N-O.

Getting eliminated is such a sad, melancholy feeling even when you know your team was never likely to go very far.

I have to admit I was hoping the US wouldn't win tonight.  Don't think I could handle people being elated around me at work tomorrow

I actually started the game thinking I wanted Portugal to win. Then Nani scored, and I remembered why I don't like Portugal. Then I saw CRonaldo and I remembered why I detest them.

U S A U S A U S A U S A U S A

Also, Fabian Johnson was excellent.

Hmmm. I'm with Deuce on this.

Most US fans-- the one's that know their history at least-- support South Korea 100% in the World Cup. I'm forever thankful for the beating you gave Portugal in '02, a win that got us into the last 16. Cheered myself hoarse rooting for Korea today ( I wasn't the only one either) . But as Deuce said, fuck you oldtype.

Anyway,

He was, but he was running into open space the entire match. You would think Portugal would eventually learn. Every single spell of US pressure and he could be seen standing on the right with no one within ten yards.

They tried, they put Miguel there after Almeida failed. Just didn't work out, the guy has so much speed, was disappointed to see he's 26 already...

 already got one foot in the grave.

Moving to Monchengladbach next season, step-up from Hoffenheim. Very good player, glad we have him.
