I think if you gave me the choice I'd genuinely take Gayle. I prefer the pace of Gayle and will suit us but McCormack is prolific at this level and they will be a threat to us. Hopefully Gayle blows it out and nabs 30. Good signing for Villa anyway. You have to figure between 3 of their strikers they'll score at least 40 league goals. I just hope they're still a shambles at the back. Think Chris Hughton has shown that if you can get a solid organised team in this division you have a strong chance of going up. McCormack's always had a whiff of Defoe/Bent about him to me, players who don't bring enough outside the area to turn the team into a winning one, but that might be harsh on him as I've rarely seen him play. He's the worst player I've ever seen in the flesh. Within a few minutes of his debut you could see he had no idea how to kick a ball, what runs to make or what positions to take up on the pitch. He plays like the kid who was last pick in PE won a raffle for a run out at Goodison. How on earth Martinez and Kevin Reeves (his idiot chief scout he brought with him from Wigan) could have sanctioned that transfer is beyond me.
