Wullie
On another note, I see Ross McCormack is training with the u23's after falling out with Bruce. Apparently hasn't been turning up for training and has a terrible attitude. Seems like that's one summer non-signing that we got right. Apparently he rang up and said he couldn't get to training because his electric gates were knackered, Bruce stormed round, climbed over the fence and had it out with him on the doorstep. Wullie
Bruce climbing over a fence does not seem legit Looks like The Mirror, as seems to be their MO at the minute, de-sensationalised their story after first publishing it, it now says Bruce just went round and took photos of the fence. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/steve-bruce-involved-furious-bust-9669110 Original text was this: https://dcfcfans.uk/topic/24973-ross-mccormack/?page=12#comment-1173210
Gallowgate Toon
Having met McCormack through some players at one of his former clubs, I can confirm he's an absolute cunt. Like, he came across as a genuinely horrific person.

Ryan
Would've liked us to be in for Hourihane, especially if it's for as little as £3m.

jdckelly
Van Aanholt to Palace for £12m nearing completion. Another nail in the mackems coffin. why in gods name are they improving a relegation rivals squad with one of their better players at a relatively speaking (january, stupid tv deal, selling to english team tax etc) low price. Leazes_End_Mag
Van Aanholt to Palace for £12m nearing completion. Another nail in the mackems coffin. I know he's one of Sunderland's better players but Palace spunking 24m on him and Schlupp is absolutely horrendous business.
The College Dropout
Of course he did. There's much more chance of him developing into something with the standard of coaching he'll have access to over there. He'd have been able to get loads more over here. He's on a reported £30k a week plus bonuses man He'd not be on anywhere near that at any of the other clubs. Jenkinson is apparently on £40k at Arsenal. Any lad going for over £10m should expect good money You're right to an extent, but again, you've given Arsenal as an example. They have a huge wage bill and are known for paying their youngsters that come through their academy extremely well. The really big clubs pay insane wages. The smaller clubs pay extremely good wages, but I am still not convinced that many Premier League clubs would have been prepared to pay Burke 30Kpw plus bonuses etc. I'm just not. It's pissing in the wind a bit because we don't have proper numbers, but here's a fairly good guess: http://www.totalsportek.com/money/manchester-united-player-salaries/ They have Lingard at 25Kpw and Rashford at 20Kpw. That sounds plausible. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3891884/Jesse-Lingard-set-sign-new-four-year-deal-Manchester-United-line-new-Adidas-contract.html Widely reported that Lingard has doubled wages to £60k

KaKa
What is Schlupp? A left back or left winger? It seems Sam benched Townsend and played him instead, which is quite unbelievable really.
Figures 1-0 Football
What is Schlupp? A left back or left winger? It seems Sam benched Townsend and played him instead, which is quite unbelievable really. A left back that was moved to be a winger because his defending was suspect. Leicester fans seem to think he was dogshit in both positions, fwiw.

Ketsbaia
Would've liked Hourihane here, so that's a shame. Van Aanholt will be a miss for Sunderland, but that fee is excessive.

The top four money teams have been paying 20-30Kpw to the better youngsters for a while. Us and the teams originally after Burke just can't/won't pay that much. Supposedly Alli started with Spurs on just over 10Kpw: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/tottenham-hotspur-midfielder-dele-alli-likely-to-double-wages-with-new-deal-a6740661.html

Shearergol
Barnsley are getting ripped apart aren't they. I realise that they're a smallish club, but their owner is doing their manager absolutely no favours.
