The problem with Dummett, I guess, is that he's dogshit.

 

Same will be said of the other young players if they play 8-10 games in a poor side, playing an 80s style of football and don't somehow look like world beaters.

Remember Carroll went to Preston and was shit when he was Campbell's age. He then came back and was very average for a long time until something clicked at The Hawthorns. Campbell could grow in the right environment. Pardew won't provide that for neither him nor Armstrong, but both could probably be good players.

As though we aren't looking like a mid-table team for the foreseeable anyway. If Campbell can be a solid Championship player then arguably he can do a job as part of the squad at NUFC.

 

The idea seems to be that you know, if you're going to make it you should be able to go to a lower league and rip it up completely. Considering how average Stevenage and Brighton made our first team squads look what are we exactly expecting from youth team players?

 

Campbell did not look out of place when he was involved with the squad in 12-13. He also has a far higher pedigree then most of our non-loaned reservists and academy players.

^ Couple that with having eyes and being able to judge him based on performances (not short cameos last season or his spotty-at-best loan record) and the conclusion should be that both he and Armstrong deserve at least some kind of tangible chance.

 

Even more so when Dummett has been handed one (a technically, athletically and all-round less proficient player). There's a reason both Campbell and Armstrong have played for England youth teams.

Crazy all this talk of playing him in last few games when people are already giving Dummett grief and saying hes not good enough and never will be.

If fans aren't willing to expect poor games from the young players they cannot be brought into the squad for an extended period of games, they can only make sub appearances which aren't long or make loan appearances elsewhere.

I'd love to see all the young players get a try now we have noubt to play for with a strong middle of the likes of Colo, Tiote to support them.

 

As for De Jong showed noubt at all since he signed on loan, think we're wasting giving our players a try by playing him when he obviously can't adapt to the PL in such a short period of time.

Would love us to have more English players but only if they're good enough.
