I thought villa couldn't spend any money due to ffp?

They can't

Well fuck :okay:

It was a nice fantasy while it lasted.

Loan him with a fixed fee for next season. A club did that recently.

So them buying Colback will mean that they are weakened as a team and likely to face a financial fine or points deduction?

Villa have lost £81m over the last three years in the premier league, which puts them dangerously close to breaking EFL ffp regs. Seems a bit harsh that like, but it's villa so fuck them. They have £1.7m of wiggle room, that'll do nicely for Colback.

Sure QPR failed EFL FFP and were only required to pay a nominal fine. Somehow I just don't think Villa are going to be too concerned about it.

Does FFP matter when you're in the Championship?

The EFL have their own, like any FFP though it still allows bigger clubs to spend what they want, they just have to pay for it (fine).
