Jack Colback (now a free agent)

So we had that problem with Cabaye but we are not with Colback? Give me a break.

Those problems exist because of Pardew, no amount of new players will change it.

There seems to be a bit of a love-fest on Anita at the moment, but he still doesn't convince me.

There's no love fest, he's just the best we have at the stuff you describe.

Doesn't mean he's brilliant, just that options are awful. Really fail to see what you see in Colback he's average at best.

And that's being kind.

Some of the comments on here are shocking really.

Then again I guess the lad isn't up during the day writing on a forum about a guy he doesn't even know, no maybe he's too busy you know with playing for the club he grew up supporting, earning more money in a week then what people on here will earn in a year, getting to go home to his wife and child at the end of the day. If he puts in the work then one day when he's at work he might score the winner in a derby, with a bit of good luck he might even score the winner in a cup final. Aye but go ahead, mock the lad on his looks, hate him before he's played a competitive match for us, because he's got nothing on any of you. I mean how can compete with half the people on here who one day if they work hard enough and sacrifice all their time possibly including time supporting us, or even valuable family time then one day when some of you go to work you might be promoted to the position of deputy shift supervisor at the Tesco's down the road, or possibly even PA to the PA, to the PA of the big boss.

This is a business, first and foremost. It's unrealistic to expect footballers to retain any sort of club loyalty. And I really don't think his actions warrant the foaming-at-the-mouth vitriol that's gone on since he signed.

Sorry, but no way am I having that.

c***s like Mike Ashley might see football "first and foremost as a business," but supporters don't. It's a love, it's a lifestyle. It's a f***ing game, where loyalty exists.

He grew up all his life supporting NUFC the same as the majority of us then went out of his way to s*** on every single fan of this club whilst playing for them lot.

The prick dug his own grave and now he can lie in it.

For fans, sure. For the majority of players? Nope. The football of your grandfather's generation doesn't exist anymore.

Do what you're gonna do. I don't feel like it's worth my time wasting energy on a player I'm not remotely offended by, particularly when there are far more serious issues surrounding this club with which to take offense.

We're fans, not players.

Other than the obvious, don't really get the hate. Seems perfectly capable. Nowt exciting but it it seems unfair to crucify him on the basis that people think Pards will select him regardless.

I mean, he probably will, but I'm happy to hold back for now until that happens.

Yeah seems a decent squad filler guy, he was ok today but we have better options. Worry is Pardew rates him much higher. For me our CMs should be Sissoko and Tiote, with Anita, Abeid and Colback in that order backing them up, Pardew probably doesn't agree with that.

I thought he looked OK today. Good in possession, think he will be useful this season.

No one ever said he won't be useful. It's the starting every game in front of better players, or playing other players out of position to fit him in where the problem lies.

I don't think he'll be useful. He offers nothing.
