Hatem Ben Arfa (still a free agent)

Recommended Posts

Some on TF saying he only played well 1 game in 10 or whatever. He wasn't given a run of 10 games in about 2 years.

I just can't understand it. Even when he was coming off the bench he was usually the only one creating something. Makes you wonder how people can be watching the same thing.

Hatem Ben Arfa has paid tribute to the Toon Army after his Newcastle United career came to a dramatic end on deadline day.

The French playmaker has kicked his last ball for the Magpies after signing for the Tigers on loan with his contract up at the end of the season on Tyneside, when he will be a free agent. But he contacted the Chronicle through his representatives to make an emotional farewell to Geordie fans.

Ben Arfa wrote: “To the Toon Army I want to pass on my thanks to all the fans that supported me during my time at the club and living in a city that will be forever in my heart.

“Thank you also to everyone at NUFC and to Hull for making this loan happen.”

Ben Arfa says he has no bitterness towards the Magpies, despite being made to train with the reserves since July.

He said: “I wish Newcastle the best of luck. I hope they have a good season.”

The France forward is now focused on his mission at the KC Stadium and looking forward to working with Steve Bruce. Ben Arfa’s deal was made possible by the Tripe S Agency, who also represent Wayne Rooney and Tim Krul.

Ben Arfa said: “I can’t wait to launch my career again with Hull and Steve Bruce. I thank him for the trust he has shown in me bringing me to this club.”

The 27-year-old though signed off his letter with: “Howay the lads.”

For all that I love him, you can't really write on behalf of a full set of fans. If I was going to write back to him I'd do it just from me tbh.

We could write one word each like those stories you used to do when you were kids.  I'll start.

Dear...
