Tiresias
Still think of him fondly, I think best playing just off a big target man like Rondon. Was wasted at Leicester shoved out on wing, he did not have pace.
Astroblack
Only been to one game at SJP in my life but there was a moment where Ayoze received the ball in the center circle and turned the defender. Never heard a louder roar in my life. The team was kind of built around him during his last two years. Going to Leicester was a mistake from a footballing POV. The Butcher
Gifted? Limited player, not creative or much of a passer, worked hard, good presser and went on a few scoring streaks. Probably one of the best sales we've made as long as I've supported the Toon. Edited April 30, 2024 by The Butcher
Geordie Ahmed
Could be memory playing tricks but I'm sure he used to come alive after Jan and end the season in good form

He had excellent technical ability. Really good close control, there was nothing missing in terms of ability. Not an amazing athlete and not hungry to be the best player he could be

His mentality was pretty strong given the amount of stick he got from the undead contingent of regular matchgoers. Really pleased to hear he's doing well over there as I had no idea. Was a real shame how he regressed at Leicester.

I don’t mean that his head dropped and that he gave up, he was a committed player, a bit like Miggy. I mean more in terms of self-belief. I don’t think he believed in the attacking elements of his game enough and he wasn’t aggressive enough with that part of his game. When he was on it, he was a fantastic player

Alan Pardew
Great player I brought in on the cheap. I remember his first goal for us against Spurs. Great win. Then Fat Ashley sold him for 30 million some years later. But I guess you lot don’t have to worry about such things anymore.
r0cafella
The fact Spain have called up 3 lads who played for us when we were at our lowest ebb demonstrates really well the fact you don’t need to even be ambitious to attract good players, never mind European football. Deuce
Glad he seems to have found a home with Betis. Will always have a soft spot for him…one of the few bright spots of the later Ashley years.

Yes but a bit of an anomaly as we had a Spanish legend in charge.
