He receives the ball well due to his excellent touch, can hold defenders off due to his size, and then he makes very quick decisions when he receives the ball. Based on Perez being constantly outmuscled in the middle by Kirchoff and wanting too many touches in congested areas probably. de Jong was more effective in the centre due to his size and the way he looks to move the ball quickly. Perez should be used as an impact sub against tired legs. Don't think so, I'm still to be convinced De Jong can hack it in this league. Slow, lumbered, and even if you take out the fact that he's made of glass, his excellent close control and intelligent mind seems to stop our forward play as opposed to enhance it. Again, I think he deserves a chance, but not in the place of Perez who brings a different dimension to our attacking play (or A dimension), and deserves to be on the left far more than Townsend or Sissoko.
