Dave
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3106322/Newcastle-managerial-candidate-Steve-McClaren-set-outline-club-s-future-race-vacant-hotseat-continues.html However, sources close to Vieira, while confirming Newcastle's interest, have suggested that the club will have to sell themselves to the 38-year-old as much as he does to them and, as of Monday night, no date had been set for their proposed meeting. Indeed, Sportsmail understands Vieira is also attracting interest from elsewhere, including a new deal at Manchester City, where he is currently head of their elite development squad. No shit. oldtype
Back in the good 'ol Pardew days I probably would have bit your hand off if offered McClaren. Things should be no different now that the alternative is Carver.

ExiledGeordie
No fucking chance this is happening, it'll take too much of a sea change in policy. It's McClaren all the way for Ashley.
steve_69
I can see Viera being brilliant tbh. He was a beast of a player with unbelievable leadership ability and he'll command the respect of our players, no doubt. He's also played under managers who played great football both at club and international level so he won't be peddling shit hoofball like the last two bellends. It is a massive gamble but i reckon it's well worth taking. No doubt Charnley, Ashley and co. will royally fuck it up.
midds
The club needs Vieira or Garde. The club will get McClaren or Carver.
ads
I'd be delighted with Vieira as an unknown quantity but wouldn't be against McClaren to be fair. Inspiring? No Better than Carver and Pardew? Definitely

TRon
Maybe we really were interested in Vieira but thought because he's inexperienced he'll jump at a chance to manage a big club without having control over signings? In reality it's likely that Vieira would be interested in the job, but not if the job refers to the Ashley blowjob perfected by Pardew and Carver which MCClaren would happily kneel down for. To be honest, it's probably a bit unfair to McClaren that we've already labeled him as a sycophant on Pardew and Carver's level when he's already turned down the job once He didn't turn it down, he was just hedging his bets. If Derby had got promoted he'd have stayed, plus he would have been fearful of getting relegated with us if he did take the job with 3 games to go. Noodles
McClaren will get the job as soon as he walks into the interview with the arse cut out of his pants for a visual metaphor. We're his best chance of another high profile job - he'll say/do whatever he needs to in order to get the job. The mediocrity will continue and it will be as ever thus. If you believe the press speculation, it seems he's still going to be interviewed for the job this week, as is Vieira, although I find that one more unlikely myself. Parky
If they had any sense they'd get Mc and V with Viera as assistant and then take over a couple of years down the road. Best of both worlds. Leave no space for Charverstien.

Well let's hold off until we see which one ends up the job, McClaren or Vieira. I guess you'll have your answer. This is the spineless piece of shit who got sacked by a Championship club BTW, after failing to get them promoted two seasons in a row.
