Cronky
Why would McClaren necessarily make Colback first choice? Because he's a decent player.
mrmojorisin75
i think the thing is how they'll play together wijnaldum, anita, de jong and abeid are all technical footballers who can bring the same and more than colback for me then you've the likes of sissoko and tiote with their physical strengths that colback doesn't have either colback is decent enough to slot in where/when required but i'll be gutted if he's first choice CM next season at the expense of people like anita

Ronaldo
I see both Colback and Anita as decent options. If we're playing an array of mostly attacking midfielders it would probably make most sense to anchor it with Anita, though.
mrmojorisin75
a massive amount will depend on where mclaren plays de jong (and if de jong can even play)

De Jong, Wijnaldum and Anita all speak the same language both figuratively and literally. I would want to see that given the chance first and foremost. GM
Maybe his dad used to be a war criminal. Well that's about as unintelligent a comment as I've ever seen on here. Being a war criminal isn't something you recover from in later life, so 'used to be' is probably about as wrong a phrase you could have chosen. What I meant was, with everyone fit, he'd have a place in McClaren's first team. That's how I interpreted 'first choice'. I could see him and Wijnaldum working well together.
