DJ_NUFC
Keep both, and we should start Mitrovic next season with Gayle and Arma as backup. http://i.imgur.com/NSUzdFe.gif Yep. The guy whose misses and form had a, however relatively small, hand in our relegation from the Premiership, who didn't or couldn't get a game in the Championship, is now being called to lead the line when we go back up This place, man. Nobody seems to do reasonable, only extreme suggestions.
TRon
If you really think Gayle can score for fun in Premiership and we dont need Mitrovic, you are nuts. Mitrovic clearly has the tools to score in a level above Championship and its his application that needs to improve. Gayle on the other hand doesnt have the tools but has much better application due to his experience. Keep both, and we should start Mitrovic next season with Gayle and Arma as backup. What are you basing this on? Some seriously strong weed probably.
Zero
If you dont get it, ignore it then. You need something special to be able to perform in Premiership and Mitrovic shows glimpse of talents to do so last season. Same as Carroll during our relegation season. In contrast, Gayle doesnt have the cut. He is starring in Championship simply because he knows how to dominate in this level but thats it. He doesnt got that talent. Selling Mitrovic now is the worst decision. We paid the develop cost, we sold him for cheap and we need to find a replacement next summer. Pure madness. Figures 1-0 Football
Wouldn't sell Mitro in a million years, I also wouldn't have in on the bench in the Championship. That said I'm currently sat at home in my boxers watching Pointless and Rafa Benitez is a multimillionaire football manager with a trophy cabinet bigger than my bed. Think he knows better and willing to trust his judgement, whatever happens like.

If we get promoted, we continue to play our striker who scored a shit ton of goals. If he stops scoring goals in the Premier League, we try someone else, which could possibly be Mitro. I know. /r/madlads
krybel
How many top-flight goals do you reckon Steptoe Misstro will score in his career? 50? If he continues to score at the same average per season as he has done until now, he will have 174 top flight goals when he is 33. Hes on 58 top-flight goals in 5 seasons now. The last thing you need when you play just 1 striker is someone as immobile as he is. That was why Cisse was starting ahead of him at the end of last season. ? Start mitrovic in the premiership? The same as we did when we went down when we couldn't score enough goals? The same Armstrong who has never really played at that level and has about 3 goals for Barnsley this season? Glad your not the manager
STM
Crackers man. We will have to sign a new striker. Not because Gayle and Mitro aren't decent players but because I'm not sure they are good enough for that level and because Murphy will be fired to the moon. Tubestationatmidnight
I think gayle will still get a fair amount of goals. He's a natural finisher at any level and isn't going to stop scoring just because he is playing Burnley palace boro etc. Mitrovic will be handy off the bench. Armstrong we don't know about yet but I would guess he will end up as a championship level striker.
Guest firetotheworks
Why not wait and see? Not everything has to be a predicted to the enth degree with every player. I can't stand Colback, but if Rafa can make it work to our advantage then sobeit. I think Mitrovic has been pretty rubbish for the most part and I personally don't see a great deal of potential in him, but Rafa's got this and I'm happy with whatever decision he makes because, ultimately, I want to be wrong about him. I find the clamouring for him to be replaced as weird and counterproductive as the clamouring for him to be played ahead of/alongside a player who's been on fire all season. Just let it go for now and see how it goes further down the line imo.

PartizanFC
I hope he will not stay He is not player for the bench or to be used 15 min per game. His self confidence and morale will drop becouse every time he played this season, for club or for national team he scored,or played very well and he warming a bench here.Last 3 games..how much..5 minutes he played? He scored twice against Austria..against Walles....He played against one Bale,Ramsey,Alaba or Arnautovic...he already have 26 startups in national team and he is still 22 yo Where is Gayle? When he will play for national team?Serbia squad is not some shitty Andora squad so you can underrate what he acomplished utill now. And then someone said he is unexperienced player? You really think he want to be bench player in championship...even in premiere ligue? he will sit and watch now or next season how his career falling down just becouse he love Newcastle so much? SEMTEX
He probably should leave, but anyway, Gayle is not Serbian, and if he was, he would be in your national team.

By top flight I mean decent leagues, not amateur clogger leagues such as the Jupiler First Division. To make it easier, how many PL goals will he get in his career? 25? Depends on if he stays with us after we're promoted. He scored a goal on average every 234th minute in his last PL season. If we base his ratio on that and say that he becomes a starter in the Premier League, I think an average of 2500 minutes every season would be a proper estimate. Based on that estimate he will score 10 goals every season. Seeing he already has 9 he needs 16 more to reach 25 which he should get in about a season and a half. It all depends on how many years he spends in the PL of course, but if we say that he spends three more years then he will end up with a little over 40 PL goals. Of course the estimates doesn't take into account him (possibly) improving as a player, playing in a better or worse team than Newcastle or anything like that. themanupstairs
Mitrovic getting borderline abuse, when we have had f***ers like Cisse and Sissoko recently who couldn't give a f***ing damn about playing for NUFC. Also, if we get promoted this season, Mitro will hardly find a "better" opportunity than playing for a Newcastle United in the PL managed by Rafa f***ing Benitez! Totally agree with Ronaldo that if Mitro can learn to play to his strengths only, and Rafa finds a way to mask his weaknesses, we would have a unique option to vary our game as there aren't many of his type around. sugoinufc
I hope we do not sell (at any price). I like him a lot and know his personality and passion is better than his football skills atm. When we get promoted i hope we will loan him out for a season. WITH NO OPTIONS TO BUY! He needs game time (hopefully in the PL) to develop further, before he can be a top striker for us! Surprised we have not seen him more this season.
Fenham Mag
Imagine if Gayle gets a long term injury and we have already sold Mitro Relying on Murphy to get us back in the PL. How can people want him sold in January is beyond me.
