Karl Darlow (now playing for Leeds United)

Recommended Posts

Aaron Lennon with a free header between Lascelles and Yedlin. Darlow with an awful ‘save’. Darlow then amazingly slow to get up and no defender reacts faster than Rooney.

That goal kind of sums up our season. Shit defenders, shit keepers. Just all round, a complete pile of shit. We have about 2-3 players good enough to start and then a load of squad players and worse.

Just watched it back again, he actually gets his hand to the ball after getting back up just before Rooney, only problem is his hand goes over the ball

Our goalkeeping options are so fucking dire.

In an unlikely sequence of events that will surely see Wallsendmag absolutely furious, he was fine today aside from one iffy decision to come for a corner.

Yeap, although he didn't have much to do in all honesty.

Will give him more confidence though.

Crowd lost it with him a few times because of his slowness of distribution. When he held onto the ball for so long in the 75th minute the jeers from the stands was the loudest noise heard all afternoon. Good job he had nowt to do.

We were Davey lad. Took him an eternity to release the ball on a number of occasions despite there being plenty of options in attacking areas.

Could he have been instructed not to release it early and instead to wait for us to set up with runners around Joselu?

His distribution was so slow at times where there seemed an obvious ball on that it might make sense.

Would be very disappointed with Benitez if that was the case. He was taking an absolute eternity with the ball despite often having Ritchie and Atsu in acres of space on either flank. It appeared more that he just didn't have the awareness to pick either of them out, obviously it's easier to see who is in space when you have a vantage point above pitch level in the stands but it was narve winding the crowd up.

TBH like there was once when he could have thrown it out to Perez or it might have been Yedlin in the second half and the crowd went apeshit. For me he did the right thing. Whoever it was had 4 Brighton players ahead of him and no one to pass it to. Our fans did my tits in yesterday tbh.

He certainly shouldn't have thrown it to Perez when the crowd went crazy
