STM
We have signed 3 players all physically capable in this league, which is pleasing. This guy looks the part.
Ikon
If only we had two quality centre backs and Willems.

The College Dropout
Gomis, (Eder), Rooney, (Depay), Giroud, Walcott ALl before September. A good spread of strikers he'l be up against.
Deckard 13
There was one moment when he the midfield was caught out and he was essentially 1 v 1 against an attacker moving at pace and he just read the ball, stepped in front of the attacker and came away with it like there was no problem. Anyone else in our defence and that moment is either a card or the player has a 1 v 1 with Krul. I also like how he steps up with the ball at his feet and opens attacking angles from defence. It's wonderful to see someone play the game from that position rather than just drop their arse and hoof it.

I saw that moment too, was ace, reminded me of Colo when he was actually in his pomp and 1v1 with an attacker you weren't very worried
The College Dropout
Aye he seems to read the game pretty well. Looks fairly quick. Considering all of our defenders lost the majority of their aerial duels - it's a massive area for us to look at.
Ronaldo
And has been for pretty much a decade. Unfortunately John Terry type defenders cost far more than the rest.
Sho Time
For his first game in English football so soon after signing, his performance was extremely good. Once he adapts he is going to be an absolute boss - his positional sense wasn't great and often tried to do others jobs for them (necessary in our defence I guess!) but that's obviously down to never playing with the defence before today. Couldn't give a f*** if he's 21 or 31, it was a cracking performance.
Ikon
Not much of a pre-season either. Very very impressed.
The College Dropout
A lot of over-rating going on imo. For a debut, given the circumstances he was solid. But positionally and aerially he was suspect
KaKa
The sooner you enrol back into college the better for us all. Go away.
Paully
I like the look of him. Like Mbiwa he'll not stand much of a chance unless we get a proper CB to partner him, though. We'll just ship goal after goal. Was the other cb (and the one you're obsessed with) at fault for the two goals?
Ikon
I'm very impressed because of the circumstances. New team, new league, no real pre-season, playing with an unfit Colo against good opposition. Don't be a bitch TCD!

AyeDubbleYoo
It was better than anyone could reasonably expect. New to the league, young player, his partner also with a lot of questions about him. Playing against Pelle and a very decent Southampton midfield. Excellent debut however you look at it. mattypnufc
To the sound of the chorus: Woooa uh oh, Chancel Mbemba Woooa uh oh, he's a class defender Woooa uh oh, he never gives the ball awaaaaaaaay.
xLiaaamx
He wasn't suspect in the air at all. When he actually challenged Pelle in the air he beat him
triggs
He wasn't suspect in the air at all. When he actually challenged Pelle in the air he beat him It was positioning rather than his lack of height that let him down for the first goal

Mole_Toonfan
Genuinely convinced it was more due to a lack of communication between the back 4 than it was him lacking aerial ability tbh.
Hanshithispantz
Genuinely convinced it was more due to a lack of communication between the back 4 than it was him lacking aerial ability tbh. We've been shit defending from balls in for fucking donkeys and both goals yesterday seemed down to shambolic communication all round as opposed to individual errors.
