Mick Posted August 1, 2015 Share Posted August 1, 2015 Pre-season games these days are all about strengthening relationships with clubs and commercial deals (hence all Premier League clubs going away to USA, Far East, Aus) I couldn't give a toss if we played with 11 Williamsons all pre-season as long as we have a decent season. A majority of the work would be done on the training ground. We should be using today to field the players we expect to put out next week so that they get used to playing together as a team. Not changing half the team after 45 minutes..A few maybe, yes. For example, Perez and Aarons should start. We won't find any rythm against Southampton... What is your ideal line-up for Southampton? Todays team only has three players that I wouldn't play against Southampton (Williamson, Obertan & Anita), hardly changing half the team... I cannot see many of the players (who will start next weekend) play for 90 minutes today, and those on the bench today that should start against Southampton will not get much time together with the "important" ones today.
