Can anyone defend Graham Carr?  He's built a s*** shower of a team.

He's been given a mandate and he's abiding by it. If we want to criticise him for that so be it, but that's a different argument. He's 'forced' to buy inexperienced, sometimes unwanted, players from second rate leagues.

Plus, he didn't choose to get rid of the good players we brought in.

Shut up, man. He's wasted tens of millions on players not fit for Premier League football.

This.

he is in charge of recruitment and has managed to get in a load of shite players which don't fit together in the slightest

Because shit managers have forced out the good ones we've brought in and because he's blatantly not allowed to buy from England or buy anyone with any experience. What's he supposed to do?

Add that to the fact that we have the worst club culture in the PL and any half decent players are obviously going to look shit.

Despite us being absolutely awful i can't say that i hate McClaren. Out of his depth, yes. Compared with Pardew...

Some positions and managers gel. Sometimes completely against the balance of quality. Pardew was never right from the start, we got ridiculously lucky at times. McClaren felt slightly better from the start but ultimately doesn't look like working either. McLaren career is littered with this scenario, majority of positions just haven't worked. On the upside just a year and a half left on his contract.

Buying players with the physicality to compete would be a good start.

So I'm not even watching this now after that 4th goal have Palace killed it? Do we look as ineffectual as we did first half?

Take a wild guess.

Desperately unlucky not to be winning 4-5?

Aye, Palace could've made a 4 or 5 goal deficit. We've not had a shot (until this very moment).

It's not, its something you need to do for this division.

Yeah. But what I mean it's a strange criticism given the evidence. But that conversation's for a different thread.

Ultimately, it's this cunt that should be first against the wall.

We were in a decent position when Pardew fucked off. He gave himself half a season to find the right manager, which nearly got us relegated, and ended up picking that fuckin' chump.

I'm going to be controversial here but I don't think Ashley's to blame this year (he's to blame for the greater mediocrity narrative and I too want him out, mind). The club has spent and brought in several new players and a new manager, but the guys that have taken those decisions (Carr or Charnley) have fucked up big time.

Ashley appointed them. So the buck stops with him for promoting the fucking club secretary to MD.
