There's no foreign player better at this level either tbf

Funnily enough, the Australian media are reporting as fact that Aaron Mooy is clearly and by a fair margin the best player in the league.

And the Australian media is always modest and would never pump up the tyres of Australian players...

Not sure if it's been mentioned but there was one moment where he was facing our goal midway in our half and he swung a pass to either Atsu or Anita tight on the wing in their half. It was absolutely sublime. Completely blind when he played it.

completely blind and the winger was about 5 yards behind him aswell. incredible pass.

His attitude has changed so much.

 Tonight he was our best defensive and attacking midfielder, exactly what we've been crying out for him to be, as opposed to just an attacking one.

Regarding Shelvey and his fitness, back when he was with Swansea, he copped a lot of flak for putting up an ad for a cook for him and his family on tasty wages. The press reported it as another sign of footballers being hopeless and over-privileged, but as a fan, I think you'd want the players in your team eating properly. If they are prepared to use their own money to do it, well good on them. It's much better than them being on the lash or eating pizzas because they can't cook.

Lots of people of higher class social backgrounds on less money than a professional footballer use cooks, cleaners, nannies, personal assistants etc. without anyone accusing them of being hopeless, so it was probably just barely veiled snobbery.

Most of the top athletes in the USA have top chefs working for them that can make delicious super healthy meals. Would be the first thing I got if I was a top athlete, and I can even cook a little bit. Should be an absolute no brainer.

Superb tonight. Best player on the park by a distance.

That's great to hear, we have to keep this guy fit, he's irreplaceable at the moment, although at some point Rafa will need to think about resting him.

That international break should have helped him.

He's playing really well, but then this is his level. He has shown in the PL he can't quite cut it to any degree of consistency with high end performances.

What does 'his level' even mean? Given that he's trampling all over every team we play against in this league, you would assume that he's probably going to be quite capable in the division above? Which he has proven to be, in spite of the fact he lost his way in the last couple of years.

Hmm, it seems more of an attitude problem at that level than anything. He's easily PL standard when he can be arsed, he showed that at Swansea before he stopped putting the effort in.

Or maybe he's in a better shape in every possible way right now, and that there's a chance he can do it in the PL as well. Time will tell. Looks a totally different player right now. Lets not write him off, some people did it before this season as well.
