TRon
Gayle wasn't happy when he told him he wasn't taking the freekick like Rolled his eyes and walked away. Turns out he was right an all. Best game I've seen from Shelvey in a Newcastle shirt though. Yes his passing range is exquisite, but today he was covering the yards and doing all the less glamorous stuff that you need central midfielders to do for 90 mins. More like that please. themanupstairs
The vision to spot the situation in the box, the confidence to try it, and the inch perfect execution of that cross are an exact summary of what Shelvey can potentially be as an attacking force. If we got this Shelvey in 7 out of 10 games, we'd win the league at a canter.

Figures 1-0 Football
Starting to control games, summed up with him and Ritchie taking the p*ss by the corner flag in the last few seconds winning throw-ins and corners before smashing a great ball across for the second. WarrenBartonCentrePartin
A mate of mine said he's seen him doing laps of the track at the Riverside in Chester-le-Street. Sounds like he's putting the extra work in.
CPL
A mate of mine said he's seen him doing laps of the track at the Riverside in Chester-le-Street. Sounds like he's putting the extra work in. Evidently he looks miles fitter on the pitch and is effective for the full 90, rather than just 65-70. themanupstairs
His tackling isn't the best but it's good to see him making it harder for people to pass him. I actually thought he was better defensively than Colback was for the majority of the game.

Tiotes Witch Doctor
Player of the season thus far, has really been a revelation, everything goes through him and he seems much fitter this season too, finally looking after himself, no doubt that comes from Rafa's input. Hes hugely important to us winning games and we don't really have anyone else in the side who can do what he does.

Gallowgate Toon
He's just by far and away the highest quality CM in the league. It's just about confidence and consistency. Rafa said he's learning bit by bit, he can mould him into a good Prem midfielder.
