geordie_b
Has there been a recent (last 20 years) player that had left us and went on to better things? Hamman is the only one I could think of Milner, Forster, Bellamy. Dont think we can really include Forster and im not sure id agree about Bellamy

Robster
Has there been a recent (last 20 years) player that had left us and went on to better things? Hamman is the only one I could think of Andy Cole. Just over 21 year ago though.
Guest
Louis Saha. Loans seem a bit of a dodgy one though unless they turned us down.
afar
I would take him back in a heartbeat, but we would have the same issue as he has right now, we've got a Ritchie playing in the same position. What we really need is someone who actually wants to play on the left, Atsu and Aarons (if he can get and stay fit) are ideal.
joeyt
Depends how you define 'better things' as Martins and Carr won a trophy at Birmingham (and Bowyer?)
Figures 1-0 Football
Depends how you define 'better things' as Martins and Carr won a trophy at Birmingham (and Bowyer?) They did have to spend time in Birmingham though

Guest
Winning a trophy doesn't mean they did better? Might as well say N'Zogbia since he got a couple of caps at Wigan.

Hanshithispantz
it's almost impossible to be wrong when you just maintain an anti-Pardew agenda like, he's great. Was so obvious how bad this transfer was though. Decent player going through a purple patch, he'd have been very good this season with us but he was never going to continue that run of form, especially not under a faltering Alan Pardew.
