Imagine openly stating you have been playing your players out of position because you don't know them

I mean rather than guessing where they play he could, oh I dunno, maybe ask them?! Or is that a bit controversial? Or ask the coaches?

It's such blatant bullshit. He played them there because he's an egomaniac and thinks he's a tactical genius. Same reason he played Cisse and Ameobi on the wing.

Tosser.

When he played Cisse or Ba on the wing, his reasoning was to get as many goals in the side as possible. To be fair you don't really need specialist wide players when you are only going to hoof the ball to them anyway.

looks like 8 games to me, one of which they won, not sure if all league games tho

Apologies, it is 1 win in 8 for Pards (I didn't realise he wasn't there for the others). The one win was at home against the team bottom of the league, who had 10 men. Approaching peak Pardew.

has started mucking around with formations too, trying a five-man defence last weekend after flitting between variants of 4-1-4-1/4-3-3/4-5-1 previously. You could argue this either way, and Pardew will no doubt defend his approach on the basis that if you’re not winning, you should change something. But if everyone knows their jobs in a defined system, logically consistency should then build.

Weird how this is a trope of many a shit manager, and frustrating how so many don't understand the principle of the last sentence.

Tbf to Pardew he has always instilled two elements of consistency, in the persistent left-back substitutions and that he's absolutely fucking abysmal wherever he goes.

He talked about wanting something new [when he arrived], but I think in England nobody wants him anymore. Of course you want something new if there’s no work for you in England.”

"The Eredivisie - the top tier of football in the Netherlands - has been abandoned for the season with no title winners and no teams relegated."

Lucky bastard has avoided relegation
