He's a good appointment for them. The best a club like sunderland could hope for anyway. OK so he was hopeless when given the chance at a big club and failed abroad but he did a very decent job at Everton which gave him the chance to manage Man Utd but unfortunately for him he was way out of his depth there. At sunderland 17th is success and I don't think he'll have any problems achieving that.

I'll be forever grateful to him for helping us to our only win at Old Trafford in 40 odd years.

Aye true. Penshaw monument gets lit up and the players do a lap of honour when they finish 17th, just like last season. Absolutely no pressure on him at all. Having said that, they've turned on every manager they've had for the last decade (apart from Fat Sam, but given more time they would have turned on him as well) so It's only a matter of time before Moyes isn't a massive lads fan anymore and is probably a mag.

Good appointment and I think his style of play is oft times underrated as being draconian/typical British hardnut bollocks. Certainly the expansiveness depends on his signings and squad though, for every Fellaini/Gravesen there's an Osman/Arteta.

I don't expect they'll move beyond the 11th-15th bracket but no doubt that's enough to temper their fans paedophilia supporting gesticulations.

This year is huge for them. Given that Moyes comes in with three weeks left until the season starts, no new signings and their pre-season so far having been covered in doubt regarding their managers future, it's hardly the best preparation. Doubt Moyes will be able to do too much with them this year, but if he keeps them up, there'll be an opportunity to kick on from there.

This is the first year in a long while that that I don't think they'll be in the relegation shake up. Lower mid table with little looking over their shoulders and they'll be chuffed with it.

No chance they have sold that many - if they had the club would have been putting out statements left right and centre - reason that they havn't put anything out is that they are well behind their local rivals and don't want to be shown up by a 'Championship Club'. 32,000 my arse unless they have suddenly decided to give free season tickets out to save time dishing out the weekly free tickets.

The information comes from a guy who estimates 45k-47k crowds, which is well above their average.

Exactly not going to happen over a season in fact their average will be less than this year as they have already lost the only game they get really near to selling out for - US!
