He obviously won't get money to spend unless he sells first and even then there isn't much guarantee he gets to use the money. My feeling is he'll probably give up at the end of January but if he does stay, would they be tempted to keep him in the job for the sake of not paying out another compensation package and risk relegation with him? Maybe if he threw a strop but, to be honest, Defoe seems a decent bloke. He was saying how people would lose their jobs if they went down, is really good to that Lowery kid too.
