mrmojorisin75
I had the misfortune of engaging with a mackem today. Apparently its all good and well going up, but we will have a Championship squad needing a huge overhaul just to even try staying up. This was followed by if we are racing away with it in the New Year Rafa will think his job is done and could well be tempted by bigger clubs. I tried to inform this person that although our squad does contain Championship level players, given the manager we have and the s**** that is the Premier League 8 downwards, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to simply survive given that the mackems have done it time and time again. As for Rafa leaving, to where I asked? Spain he replied. But his family are settled in England, his daughter studies here in the N.E... but but but he replied back, if a top club form La Liga come calling he'd walk there. This despite the same idiot proclaiming that Rafa is s*** these days, who didn't build on his success at Liverpool. Honestly, I've never met a more moronic fan in my life when it comes to us and he's actually a canny bloke, a die hard mackem who has been going 30 plus years. To be fair, he reckons they are f***ed long-term with ES in charge whether they stay up or not. If they go down that's them down for a long time he believes. He doesn't blame Moyes either, he says the rot started with MON spending f*** loads and not bothering with training and coaching etc. their all brain dead Irony. Following the edit, I need to ask - Where all brain dead? there all brain dead Ah okay.

BlueStar
There is a 25 page thread on RTG at the moment discussing the takeover of some Chinese consortium. This all came about from a vague report in The Sun some weeks ago with no credible evidence or quotes, someone decided to make up further info about this story and now they're all pinning their hopes on it. Again, with no credible evidence. In fact, there is not a single news outlet in the world reporting this Chinese consortium are buying the mackems - but they're still all going for it Begging for PMs about it from some guy who claims to be ITK. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/top-chinese-company-everbright-securities-to-buy-safc.1290535/page-

afar
This is the only window of opportunity for a takeover for them. I think these consortiums are only interested in PL clubs. Villa were the exception to the rule there because of their heritage and they are in the words of their fans "the biggest club ever to be relegated from the PL". Anyway if they don't get bought out before the January window, there's no way any sane person would bank on them staying up assuming the level of investment from Short continues to be woefully inadequate. Mind you entrusting Moyes with more money to waste on ill fits is a risky business. Strange how he generally bought pretty well at Everton.

They got off lightly in that article in my opinion, nowhere did it mention their deliberate harbouring and reward of a confessed child sex offender which is their biggest crime ever. The only signing we've made that you could throw that remark at is Murphy and he's our 4th Choice centre forward who's barely played, they haven't even got 4 fowards themselves and zero depth at that position ! Hayden and Hanley are the only two in our squad that don't have PL experience. Hayden is going to be a star, no doubt in my mind on that one. Hanley is a back up CB, that under Rafa could be an astute signing for us. I may have my black and white specs on here but, I don't think our squad is any worse than the likes of Bournemouth, Swansea, Stoke, Watford, Hull, Boro, Burnley, WBA and of course those dirty Mackems. Grant Hanley played a considerable amount of games for Blackburn in the premier league
STM
I think Sunderland would be fairly attractive to foreign investors. They could pick it up for nowt and like it or not they have a decent fan base. The problem is that foreign consortia are like a lucky dip, you have no idea what plans these morons might have. I think it's been quoted that Short wants his money back, add that price to the debt the new owners would have to take on and it's not a cheap option. Geographically it's a problem too, as we've found out in the past, a lot of foreign investment won't touch clubs in the North East for some reason ! They have a decent fanbase because they let so many people in for nowt or next to nowt. Their annual gate receipts of £10.5m are on a par with Hull City and dwarfed by the likes of Southampton. If a new owner came in, put the admission prices in line with most other PL clubs and cut out the 1000s of freebies they wouldn't get 30k in for run of the mill matches.
