They got off lightly in that article in my opinion, nowhere did it mention their deliberate harbouring and reward of a confessed child sex offender which is their biggest crime ever.

I had the misfortune of engaging with a mackem today. Apparently its all good and well going up, but we will have a Championship squad needing a huge overhaul just to even try staying up. This was followed by if we are racing away with it in the New Year Rafa will think his job is done and could well be tempted by bigger clubs.

I tried to inform this person that although our squad does contain Championship level players, given the manager we have and the s**** that is the Premier League 8 downwards, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to simply survive given that the mackems have done it time and time again.

As for Rafa leaving, to where I asked? Spain he replied. But his family are settled in England, his daughter studies here in the N.E... but but but he replied back, if a top club form La Liga come calling he'd walk there.

This despite the same idiot proclaiming that Rafa is s*** these days, who didn't build on his success at Liverpool.

Honestly, I've never met a more moronic fan in my life when it comes to us and he's actually a canny bloke, a die hard mackem who has been going 30 plus years.

To be fair, he reckons they are f***ed long-term with ES in charge whether they stay up or not. If they go down that's them down for a long time he believes. He doesn't blame Moyes either, he says the rot started with MON spending f*** loads and not bothering with training and coaching etc.

This new nonsense that they have invented that our squad is full of championship crap, is just another outright lie. The only signing we've made that you could throw that remark at is Murphy and he's our 4th Choice centre forward who's barely played, they haven't even got 4 fowards themselves and zero depth at that position ! Hayden and Hanley are the only two in our squad that don't have PL experience. Hayden is going to be a star, no doubt in my mind on that one. Hanley is a back up CB, that under Rafa could be an astute signing for us. I may have my black and white specs on here but, I don't think our squad is any worse than the likes of Bournemouth, Swansea, Stoke, Watford, Hull, Boro, Burnley, WBA and of course those dirty Mackems.

Grant Hanley played a considerable amount of games for Blackburn in the premier league

I think Sunderland would be fairly attractive to foreign investors. They could pick it up for nowt and like it or not they have a decent fan base.

The problem is that foreign consortia are like a lucky dip, you have no idea what plans these morons might have.

I think it's been quoted that Short wants his money back, add that price to the debt the new owners would have to take on and it's not a cheap option. Geographically it's a problem too, as we've found out in the past, a lot of foreign investment won't touch clubs in the North East for some reason !

They have a decent fanbase because they let so many people in for nowt or next to nowt. Their annual gate receipts of £10.5m are on a par with Hull City and dwarfed by the likes of Southampton. If a new owner came in, put the admission prices in line with most other PL clubs and cut out the 1000s of freebies they wouldn't get 30k in for run of the mill matches.

Correct! If they go down then I seriously think they're ferked which would be delightful after how they behaved this summer!

Surely at some point he needs to recognise the inherent future danger in declaring that the only thing that matters in terms of our rivalry is which division we're each in.

The thing which tickles me is that they don't see any inconsistency or hypocrisy in stuff they write between one post and the next. Most blame Rafa for our relegation (I know many are just on the windup but some aren't) when he only had 10 games, yet they are now saying if Allardyce came back he would have nowt to lose, as if he fails to keep them up in 28 games it would be blamed on Moyes.

On a similar note they say Rafa took us down as he couldn't beat them, Norwich or Villa, whilst not recognising that two of those were in his first three games, and after he sorted us out he took twelve points from the last six. Sam lost eight out of his first eleven games but apparently allowing a manager time to sort out someone else's team doesn't seem to apply to Rafa?

Comedy Gold on Total Sport tonight. A Sunderland fan giving Marco abuse for his views that fans should not leave the ground early. He had a 2 minute rant about how Marco didn't use the word 'indictment' in the correct context.

Haha, heard that on my way home. Best bit was when 'Malcolm' started ranting... "You phoned me, I didn't want to be on".... until the presenter said, "Malcolm, you called us last night, and when you didn't have time to get on, you asked us to ring you tonight"

Marco was right on the defensive... saying he was being insulted, and all sorts. Think it was implied the only reason MG stays for full matches at Sunlun is because he gets his ticket free.
