geordiedean
Will keep them up No he wont you cant shine shit mate. Their defence is atrocious, their midfield is non existent and pedestrian and their best and only forward is on loan Don't be too confident of him keeping them up
xLiaaamx
How's he done at club level? All I can remember is that he managed Fulham at one point. Average at second division Sociedad, didn't get them promoted. Similarly meh at Coventry where he just got worse. Had a spell in Greece. So, on the whole, he struggles without Gareth Bale to turn to. midds
A cunt of a person to take over a cunt of a club. Perfect. Unfortunately he'll keep them up but it's a sticking plaster over a gaping wound. Appointing Coleman won't suddenly put that right.
Tsunami
They must have offered a decent salary, budget and length of contract. He must be pretty gutted that his best option is Sunderland in their position. Where does he go from there once he’s failed? Back into the media with the last 3 and half years of his contract paid up to comfort him.
Dokko
Pisshead Brilliant.
Beren
A cunt of a person to take over a cunt of a club. Perfect. Unfortunately he'll keep them up but it's a sticking plaster over a gaping wound. Appointing Coleman won't suddenly put that right. Came in to post pretty much this. Can't think of an active manager that I hate more than Coleman, quality fit.
gdm
Coleman is awful. Got lucky with Wales on the back of the platform Speed put in place
Big Geordie
How long until we see a 'Bale to Sunderland' thread?
Figures 1-0 Football
Will keep them up Massively dislikeable though so it’d be even better if he didn’t.
sempuki
He's nowt flash at all.
Dr.Spaceman
Nee good. They'll get a bounce for a few weeks and be back to square one. Remember how bad he was at Coventry
mighty__mag
Shocked at this. Thought he could have found a much more desirable job elsewhere.
HaydnNUFC
Anyone on RTG claimed he's better than Rafa yet?
ilikenewcastle
He's crap lads. Thought his over-inflated reputation could have got him a much better job though.
Superior Acuña
That's a pretty good appointment for them like. He could definitely do better and I thought they'd do worse.
Ameritoon
Every indication is that they'll have basically no money to spend in January. Doubt Coleman's been told otherwise, he just has such a high opinion of himself he thinks he can save them.
Guest ElCid
A c*** of a person to take over a c*** of a club. Perfect. Unfortunately he'll keep them up but it's a sticking plaster over a gaping wound. Appointing Coleman won't suddenly put that right. Unless he has money to spend then can’t see any change. The team is s*** and his record at club level is pretty s*** also. He hasn’t got players like bale and ramsey st Sunderland that’s for sure
Stifler
Judging a manger from international jobs can be hard. He had Bale and a few others to win him games, just look at Portugal who were carried to the Euro’s and won them through Ronaldo. His CV prior to Wales isn’t anything special, in fact he last managed Coventry which is an indication of how highly he is rated.
Ketsbaia
On the one hand, I'm surprised he's choosing to take this job. On the other, he'll be shite at club level and will never take them higher than mid-table. Fit wife, that's it. And it's always a huge plus when their manager is a hateable twat. Ryan
Will keep them up More than likely although they should never be in the bottom 3 anyway with the squad they've got.
black_n_white
Really shocked by this news. Coleman a likeable guy and our (Wales) most successful coach, however I can’t see anything other than failure here, as a few have already said his club management record is not too good.. Anyway, thanks for the memories and good luck, you’re going to need it Chris!

black_n_white
Being Welsh I might be biased but I never got that feeling about Chris. Mark Hughes I disliked though.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Coleman's not far behind Pardle in the "arrogant cunt" stakes.
Klaus
I don’t see how any manager could improve them if they have no money to spend. He seems like a good appointment but the squad they have is dog shit.
