Wallsendmag
He's one of the best managers in the world but when you have a squad full of cowards, many who will already be looking at moves elsewhere in the summer, then I'm not really sure what he's expected to do. clintdempsey
I don't disagree. But we've finished the games against both Sunderland and Leicester strong after a few tweaks and subs. There's no denying he's a class manager though.
Shak
Honestly think the main problem today has stemmed from the front four. Lone striker who can't hold the ball up. #10 who doesn't get on the ball very often. Two wingers who have very poor football brains and struggle to retain possession, players who have also been placed on sides where they can't really take on the fullback on the outside because it's on their weaker side. We've struggled to get the ball into Norwich's half, never mind looking like scoring, and I don't see how that's gonna improve with this abysmal front four that Rafa has somehow managed to decide to send out. Wallsendmag
We've scored 7 goals away from home all season. We've lost 8 in a row or something daft like that so I can't blame him for trying something totally different.
toontownman
Think he is finding out the hard way what predecessors have. Players obviously play the game and give a shit in training. Couldn't care less on the pitch.
Leazes_End_Mag
Decision to switch Townsend and Sissoko opposite sides since he came in has worked out shambolically.

Sho Time
Still don't see how a defence as s*** as ours is expected not to concede and we have a midfield that aside from Shelvey can't even make a 5-yard forward pass without losing it merits this 4-2-3-1 (really 4-5-1) bollocks with a lone striker. Play 2 up top FFS.

Stick two up top and play with actual fucking wingers on the right side.
Guest neesy111
442 is a dead formation. We'll be even more rotten in midfield.
Sho Time
Changing to 4-4-2 resulted in our draw against Chelsea and win against Norwich which are our 2 best performances of the season.
Dave
Looking forward to the inevitable brain donors saying Benitez is in any way responsible for our relegation.

You can talk systems and tactics all day but the bottom line is these players have proven time and time again they lack both the ability and attitude to succeed at this level. Kimbo
Even if we stayed up he would have too much work to do on this squad. I hope he gets a good club in Spain in the summer.

Funny that we scored two goals and didn't just get completely battered once we went with Cisse and Mitrovic up top together. Rafa's obviously a quality manager, but his team selection today was fucking atrocious.
TRon
It doesn't matter if you are the greatest tactician the world has ever seen, there's not much you can do with defenders as godawful shite as that. Sunderland and Norwich both invested in a big solid defender, we didn't. Now we stand there watching as shit teams rifle shots in from daft angles. clintdempsey
Just because he's a class manager doesn't make him excempt from criticism. Selection today was poor, Taylor over Lascelles which in turn meant Mbemba had to play on the wrong side and Cissé over Mitrovic were the wrong calls IMO. And Sissoko should probably have started at left back after doing well there in his brief spell vs. Sunderland.

midds
Carries no responsibility for this clusterfuck at all. He can only work with this set of wankers so much but ultimately poor defensive play and individual errors undo any good he does on the training ground. Always had the 'too little too late' whiff of it when he was appointed and that's exactly what's happened. Hard to summon up any emotion right now. Just don't care any more, fuck them.
