Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

Recommended Posts

Aye, but they had Kante in front of them, and we'll have Wor Jackie.

We better f***ing not have.

On a serious note, it would be better to invest big money in midfield and keep the same CBs IMO. None of them are awful.

Saying that, there's been a helluva lot of rank individual defending and goalkeeping errors this season that no matter who was in front of them, it wouldn't have mattered particularly.

In midfield we basically need the closest thing to Kante we can realistically find. We currently have the furthest thing from Kante I can possibly imagine (from a professional player).

I think that's what we tried with Saivet.  Just a very very very poor mans version of

By that i mean small man with high energy converted from winger/attacking positions to be a more competitive midfielder in the centre. Unfortunately that's where any kind of similarity ends.

If shawcross comes in, who leaves? Mbemba is the most likely which is a shame as there is a decent player in there. Hanley is the most limited, but has been ok when used this season.

Any of them really, they all have obvious flaws, but Lascelles has time on his side, and Clark has the form with us. I think both Hanley and Mbemba will go.

Ignacio Camacho from Malaga would be ideal as the screening midfielder. Suprised he is still there. Marcos llorente from Real Madrid on loan (doubt they would sell) would be brilliant but probably too big a fish for us to catch.

Awful story that, I would have him no problem but Fulham must be favorites for the playoffs and why would they sell for only £10 million ?

I'd love Cairney but sure we got quoted £20m for him in January.

Even if they don't go up and he wants to leave, they'll surely demand more than £10m.

No idea how much he would cost but I'd love Illhremendi from Sociedad.

Went to watch Barca Vs Sociedad last week at the Nou Camp and he was outstanding.

Illarramendi cost Real Madrid 30 million, then they sold him back to Sociedad for about half of that. He's very much a hometown boy, and if I remember correctly the Madrid move went against his wishes. So it might be difficult to prize him from San Sebastian to Northern England.

Very good player though.

Ah didn't know his backstory. Fair enough.

 Add the fact his time at Real was considered a big failure it makes zero sense for him to risk moving club so quickly after re-discovering his form. Obviously prefers it there for now. Can't be arsed to learn how to spell his name either.

I've always been a believer in signing first teamers/key players and relegating current first teamers to squad players. Never see the point in signing squad players unless they are either to useful to turn down or have potential to improve.

A quality number 10 is what I'm most keen on. Sigurdsson would be belter.

Hope Rafa will sign at least 3 top quality players this summer. 1 for each chain.
