There's an element of risk to every transfer but the more highly rated a player is the less that risk usually becomes and as a result the higher the price. The only reason we went down to begin with was because we waited an extra week or two to sign Rafa and spent too long with fucking McClaren. We'll be fine, but that's nowhere near good enough. You couldn't be more wrong. Of course there's the odd budget buy or the expensive flop but statistically higher wages means higher position on the table. You spend money = you finish higher Simple.
